Morning all, broken cloud and some sunshine at present, but very mild indeed for this time of year. In addition we have an extra whole minute of daylight. I wonder how to make the most of it.

Morning all from a bright & sunny West West London - last day in the office until 4th Jan. Mrs W_Y asked me to pop into M&S to pick up a few things she missed/could not get from Tesco - it was rammed and I am sure she did not need even more cream and cheese. Still, I also picked up a few bottles of beer whilst passing Tesco - anyone tried Adnams Ghost Ship? Interesting that a lot of yoot are now trying Ale's instead of Lager - #2 son asked me to get the Ghost Ship in for Xmas. Thanks for the frothy AK, much appreciated
A deceptively light hoppy ale with a good bitter smack and a zesty aftertaste, (on tap) it's my favourite of the Adnams stable - including the wonderful malty Broadside. Drinks like a session bitter, but it's stronger.
A piece on the French news today says that because of the very mild weather cases of flu are half of those in a normal year. Because of the low numbers of cases they have not yet been able to say what virus will create problems when it does strike. With it changing from year to year, it does make you wonder why flu jabs are made available. My doctor says that it is probably a waste of time to get one unless it is the same virus as last year, but as it is provided if you want to have one it will not do you much harm.
I had a flu jab for the first time in over 10 years last winter. I also had 4 colds having not had a single cold for over 10 years......
Morning Brian, Cumbria, up in NW England, which was flooded 3 weeks ago, has been flooded again. Shocking weather. Hope you remain clear of flooding!
