It was, Yorkie, but a very tense last ten minutes, for "little old Norwich" to come away from Anfield with anything is always a welcome sight!
Morning all from a cloudy Jersey. I'm off work this week and have all sorts of things planned that I need to catch up with, then didn't sleep well last night, so just feel like relaxing.
Morning all, bright and sunny in rural France and the chance to briefly get back into the routine now that the last of our summer visitors have departed. I say briefly because on Wednesday we set off for the UK where we will have our annual reunion with friends of more than sixty years. One of our number didn't make it as far as last year, but the rest of us keep ticking along and are pleased to meet up for a grand weekend of gossip, eating and drinking. Last year we were in Yorkshire while this year Dorset. Went to print my ferry tickets Saturday evening, but computer would not communicate with printer. Where was the trouble, computer or printer? Eventually decided last night to reinstall the printer and it worked. No idea still just what the problem was, but at least it is working again.
Sæl öll from the Graham Taylor Breakfast Nook. Tea and coffee, donuts and fruit are on the bar. Half and half coffee for Brian Black coffee for Bragi Flat white coffee for Yorkie Frothy for W_Y Café Allongé for OFH KA beat Þór 0:2 but was not enough for promotion, we finished in third place.
Have a good trip. We are flying into Bezier on Wednesday for a few days of sunshine, unfortunately will miss the CP game at home.
Congratulations Yorkie, let me introduce you to the first rule of grandparenting:- you must spoil the child rotten so that he puts his parents through what they put you through! Apologies if it's a she, but the rule still stands!
Great news, Yorkie...it's one of life's great delights. My daughters didn't oblige so I've become Mrs H's grandchildren's grandpa...two, aged 4 and 2, and a third on the way. We're just back from a weekend's babysitting while Mum and Dad had a last bit of freedom in Paris. We took in Art Club and football training (none of that when I was a lad) and returned home exhausted but very happy. I'm sure you've much to look forward to.
My wife and I have 5 grandchildren between the ages of 8 and 17. Our third daughter has yet to oblige. Unfortunately we are often in trouble for what we have done, for what we have not done or for what we may do in the the future. You need to be much more diplomatic than I manage to be on this forum. Good luck.
Good news Yorkie, hope that they are as pleased as you. I have seven grandchildren, four boys in England and three girls in France, so I see the girls quite often which is good as they are not slow at correcting my mangling of the language. The two boys from Leeds speak a different language altogether, more difficult to tune into than my neighbours. This afternoon while out grass cutting for the neighbour across the lane, she came to tell me that her cat was very ill, and will not live long. She had tears running down her cheeks as she told me about all of the ones she had since a child. It seems that losing an animal can be very hard. I would have invited her in for a nice cup of tea if we had been in England, but it doesn't seem to have the same effect here.
Suggest that you try Les Plantanes at 1 Place de la Liberte, 34310 Poilhes. About 15kms outside Bezier the village is alongside the Canal du Midi. The food there is excellent, thoroughly recommended. The chef comes from NZ and her husband is English, but the food is French. On a nice day you can eat outside under the plane trees. Excellent value as well.
