Good morning all from a cold and wet Weston-super-Mare. OFH, please accept my apologies for a thoughtless Norwich fan! I am as pleased as punch that you are promoted and offer you heartfelt congratulations! Have a good day all!
Morning Woody, hope you beat your local rivals as they are a team that I have never warmed to. But my hearts wants Brentford to go up, mainly for their manager who seems a really decent bloke and had been treated appallingly. Nothing personal against Narge as they are a club I have always liked..
Morning all....... I used to live in Isleworth and went to see Brentford from time to time... and as a little club they have always been less fancied... so I will favour them... but they have to beat Boro' and I really hope they do... so a Brentford - Norwich Play off final would be great. A little hoarse after yesterday, slightly disappointed but really comfortable with the no 2 spot. We were saying it was one of the first games for months when there was no 'we need to win this' tension...
Watched Brentford a few times when I first moved to London and lived in Ealing. They had a midfielder called Higginson who looked the most unlikely figure to be a professional footballer I'd ever seen until Devon White came along.
Well, i'm off to the awards dinner and i'm sure it won't be negative, and that the team will be celebrating with the rest of us! We are premier league!
Morning all, showers forecast throughout the day here, but 22°C. The Premier League has announced that the 2015-16 competition will begin on August 8, which is earlier than normal. This gives the team promoted through the play offs even less time to prepare. Fixtures due out the middle of June I think.
I need to get out and cut the grass today - planned to yesterday, but it poured down for most of the day. I am out of sync with the garden waste collection service and the grass is rather long!
My niece is 9 tomorrow so I am playing nice uncle Dan and going to Oxford St for shopping and lunch. Wonder if I can trick her into getting a Watford shirt...
Sæl öll. Cappuccino, coffee, tea donuts and fruit are on the bar. If you need them. Wine and beer for all who are in Watford today.
This is the wrong strategy. The right one is buy a shirt for your niece with her first name on the back and number 9 for her age then tell her that is her present.
Amazing really as this season does not finish until the end of May - not a lot of time in between. Need to see end of next season in order to book holidays
Well I have to say this has been a top top weekend! Despite the disappointment of Saturday which seems a lifetime ago, the whole 'Watford weekend' has been a blast! The awards dinner last night was great fun and though a little worse for wear this morning I managed to get to Cassiobury just in time to see the team come in on the bus. A great atmosphere all weekend and no sign of disappointment among the team or attendees at either event. We are officially over it! happy hornette, it'll all live long in the memory . Bring on the Premier league! (though happy for a short break, it's been a long season!)
Still not pleased about 2nd spot, but can´t complain really, the lasy minute though grrrrrrr. Going to see everyone on the board before next season starts. Have a good summer all and remember for those missing football there is always the Copa America - http://www.ca2015.com/en August will be interesting to see how Watford are shaping up!!
jerzeypie had a somewhat different view of this afternoon to H - he seemed to think there was a slight air of disappointment about us not winning the title, including from the players. I had a smooth journey back from Watford to Jersey apart from when we arrived, my ex wasn't at Jersey Airport to collect our youngest as she promised. She had got confused over when we would be getting back despite me writing it on a piece of paper a week ago which gave her various options on how youngest would get back home.
