I had one two years ago, despite never having flu since I was 11, and felt quite ill the next day. I had several colds that winter and haven't taken up the offer of the jab since. About one cold a year remains my average and still no flu. Hope you, Mlle and mum are soon bug-free.

In trying to find a question in the Pub Quiz thread. I looked at the details of the 1966 World Cup. I was amazed to see how low the attendances were. Quite a few games failed to attract more than 25000, no game at Old Trafford reached 30000. One game, at Middlesbrough failed to get 14000. Wembley wasn't full for most games (or any games if the capacity really was 100000). In fact the highest attendance in the tournament was for England v France (98270) which got about 1300 more than the final.

According to our doctor, flu jabs are a waste of time. There has been an outbreak of flu across most of France despite people having the jab in record numbers. This years virus is different to last years, and so the vaccine available only acts against last years flu. Last time I had one many years ago I was laid up all over Christmas and the New Year, so do not wish to partake thank you.
