Morning all, another day when the sun will be blazing down and by this afternoon shade will be sought. Many of the older men start their gardening soon after it gets light, then retreat indoors as it gets hotter. Good idea if you can wake up at 5.00 am.
I had a chat to my next door neighbour this morning and discovered that he has been an avid watcher of the Tour de France. He couldn't get over the crowds who turned out in England to watch, but was struggling to remember the last time there had been so many accidents when the top riders had been forced to retire. Temperature in the shade has now gone over the 30°C mark, so was glad of the cold bottles that Mme brought down the fields for me. All outside jobs finished for the afternoon and it is cool inside with our thick stone walls. I wouldn't fancy riding up a mountain on a push bike this afternoon.
Mine is 27 which pleasantly surprised me as I feared I bordered on the obese. Also I am lower than 56% of my age group which again amazed me. Ironically I am mostl like someone from....... Hung(a)ry
You might like this as a follow up Leo as it has some stats in it. Mex, those stats for you are alarming.
Thanks for all your good wishes. They seem to have had an effect. The internal damage to my ankle was much less than the surgeon anticipated so he was able to do everything he wanted arthroscopicly. I didn't need a bone graft - well not for a few years, at least.
lucky you tell me nzhorn what exactly do we get for our taxes here took the 14 year old to get an x ray today and was charged 110 bucks no such thing as free schooling/healthcare etc maybe I am the wrong race for this sort of thing
That seems rather steep. Who referred you? I've only ever had X-rays on ACC. As for schooling it seems that the higher the decile school the more you have to pay. My six year old's sales-patter when he was selling school fundraising chocolate door to door was, "I'm sorry to bother you but I have to sell this chocolate because the Government won't give our school enough money." He did very well even though we live in what I assume is a National (Conservative) area.
For some reason I opened the match thread for the home game against Millwall on 5th march 2011. It is still on the original 606 site. The team was: Loach; Thompson, Mariappa (c), Taylor, Hodson, Deeney, Jenkins, Cowie; Buckley; Graham, Weimann. Subs: Gilmartin (GK), Bennett, Sordell, Mingoia, Whichelow, Murray, Isaac. Given where many of these players are now it is difficult not to credit Malky.

Link didn't work but yes, there is a big obesity problem here, most is cooked in oil or has loads of sugar. I can fit through keyholes though, only eat fresh meat and fish from the market off the comal, with loads of veg. The only fruit is fermented grapes mind. Seriously though, some overweight people here, shockingly. Makes the lookers stand out though
