Morning all. Cloudy again and not as warm as it should be at this time of year. My neighbour who has been threatened with having to pay for her rubbish removal by the kilo has bought a compost bin. It was quite amusing to watch her bring a bucket of kitchen waste to it, deposit the contents into the bin, then stand there peering into it as though something was expected to happen immediately. I don't think she has quite understood the process of compost making. Have a good day whatever you are doing. <ok>

Morning all. Overcast once more, but the temperature is good for some gardening. Each year a notice goes up telling us the date for the free service to remove large heavy items you no longer want. We were left with some large heavy beds when we bought the house that have been put in the barn out of the way. Each year I intend to get them out of there and away, but each year I forget that the day approaches, and it is not until a day like today when there a lot of clattering outside that I remember. It will just have to wait for next year now. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

I think we had jerseybarry until ice hockey became his passion. His son took part briefly and used the name jerseypie. Not sure that it is the same person.

Morning all. Still cloudy, but dry. Mme put a vase outside to dry off, and as I went by it noticed something scrabbling to get out. Being a fairly tall glass vase there was nothing for the creature to get a grip on, and it was too tall for it get a grip on the top. Looking at it I discovered the garden dormouse that comes through our garden to get at the peaches next door. They are pretty harmless to us unless your attic is turned into a holiday resort for dozens of them. Have a good day what ever you might come across. <ok>

Morning all. Sunshine one minute that disappears behind a cloud the next. Still the temperature is fine for being out and doing things. 5.30 pm kick off seems an odd time to start a game as we have today, however as it will be 6.30 pm here it is a good time to stop work. The evenings are shorter now and we have an hour of street lighting before they go out at 10.00 pm. My daughter-in-law finds our country darkness quite frightening, but she lives where street lighting is on all night. A clear night and a near full moon can be almost as bright as a cloudy day. Have a good day everyone, and three points would be good. <ok>

Morning all. Cloudy start, but the sun is out at the moment and it is expected that the temperature will be about 25°C this afternoon. I am glad to say that the bread distributor machine has been restored to full working order after the vicious assault on it last week. It saves an eight mile drive to the nearest baker which if you want fresh bread is the option other than the machine. You can buy loads of bread of course and freeze it, but it is not the same when thawed out. Very tempted by the pain au chocolat, but at 420 calories each you have to do quite a lot to burn them off. Gave them a miss. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Morning all. Bright and sunny and a good temperature to be out and about. Granddaughter who started university today will be 18 this weekend, so off to find a present for her today. I never mind a trip south to Limoges as the views from the autoroute are good as you climb hills then drop down into valleys. Decision will have to be made about eating out. We have our pass sanitaires so could, but do we want to is the question. I think it will depend on how busy they are and do they have outside space available. Enjoy your day wherever you may be. <ok>

Morning all. Summer has vanished once more, with heavy cloud cover. Interesting yesterday to travel from these rural parts to the big city. How differently would people be sticking to the rules on mask wearing? Just the same as it turned out, almost everyone put one on as they left their car and headed towards the shops. Good to see that after the slow start France now has a greater percentage of the population vaccinated than the UK and the number of new cases daily is about half even taking into account the islands where there is still a big problem. We still need to make a trip to the UK, but continue to put it off as we feel safer here with so many restrictions being lifted over there. Do we like these rules we live by? Of course not, but they are for the whole populations good, not just about us. Have a good and safe day. <ok>

Morning all. A clear blue sky, yet the north-easterly breeze is keeping the temperature down. One of the seasonal joys are the locally produced charentais melons, with their sweet orange flesh. They are very versatile being used quite often as a starter with some jambon cru, or as a dessert with other fruits in a salad, or simply with ice cream. Earlier in the year ones from Spain are available, followed by the ones from Provence, but the flavours are not as good as the ones available now. An elderly stall holder in the local market sold us three for €2.50 and then gave us an extra one rather than take it home again as he wanted to pack up. We had melon overload for several days. Have a good one whatever you must do. <ok>

Morning all. Bright blue sky again, and a comfortable temperature with the north-easterly breeze. I have some winter cabbage and kale plants to put in today and looking at the forecast could be watering them in for the next few days. I bought the plants when we took our friend to the hospital to see her husband. She has realised that he is unlikely to recover, and her life will have to change due to him being the driver and there are heavy things like gas bottles that she cannot manage. The problems that she is faced with will require a great deal of support. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Morning all. Still dry and sunny, but the north-easterly breeze seems to with us for some more days yet. Morning and afternoon gardening yesterday, yet not that stiff today. I must be slowly getting back to normal after the long wet weather break. At least I don't think I suffer from muscle imbalance except when stepping on molehills along the green lane. Have a good day whatever you must do. <ok>

Morning all. Bright and quite a good temperature to be getting on. French football last night, and I maybe should stop calling for some of the English refs to be sacked. The game I watched was spoilt by an official who wanted to be the centre of attention and make it known that he was in charge. Lino flagged for a throw in favour of one team that happened under his nose; ref overruled him from 25 metres away. Look on linos face said a lot. Ref issued red card after 10 minutes, and clearly no player from either side knew why. Seems he was fairly new at this level, and really was a bit out of his depth. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Morning all. Grey with just a hint of some drizzle in the air. It is more like Autumn than Summer. Forgot that it was the huge market today until I went down to get some bread and found the road was very busy. It is always held on the 29th of each month, unless it is a Sunday, so quite why it was taking place today I don't know. I have a feeling that it has become a tourist attraction rather than something for the locals. I haven't been for over a year now, the prices are no longer better than you can find elsewhere. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Morning all. Variable but dry here today and not that warm. Day off today as we go and celebrate with our oldest granddaughter her 18th birthday. Spotted that today is also the 99th birthday of the Vic, with the first game played there on this day in 1922. I am afraid that I don't remember what the occasion was like. Have a good day whatever you will be doing. <ok>

I think it has already set in up here - grey and cold again. I often think it's unfair that spring and summer travel up from the south, taking a month or so to get here, but winter travels down from the north and gets here first.

Am dreading the first winter after the gulf stream disappears - Siberian weather will be the norm here.

Morning all. Overcast and not very appealing outside. My three granddaughters were given sledges by their uncle one Christmas soon after they arrived in France. As he lives in Montpellier he thought that they living in the frozen north would get some fun and enjoyment out of them. They sit in the back of the garage never once used simply because they have never had enough snow to get them out. Yet many people have freezers topped up around the end of the year just in case we become cut off from the outside world. People with oil central heating are getting their tanks filled and log stores are being replenished. There is a season for everything unless you want to go sledging. Have a good day one and all. <ok>

    Morning y'all.

Last week México got its Eastern coast battered by hurricane Grace. It came over Cancún and then raised power again over the Gulf of México before hitting Veracruz.

This weekend gone a tropical storm turned into a hurricane as it barrelled up the West coast, with Guerrero, Colima, Nayarit, Jalisco & Sinaloa mostly impacted.

Needless to say, we have had more rains as people struggle with the impact on the coastal areas.

On a footballing note, bit grim to see the International break coming up, we need momemtum. On the other hand, it gives Muñoz a bit more time with the new signings. We basically have a new midfield and the attack has been spiced up.

    COYH.
