His military stuff has never shown up on Ancestory, but i can have another look.

Maybe that's the bit you pay for?

My Mum knows where he served and such like, would be very interesting to get hold of actual records if they exsist.

We did ot through the MOD website, can't exactly remember how, as we did it during lockdown, we were put on hold for a couple of years, then after about 3 years they replied stating they were only giving out digitalised information and the records we wanted weren't digitalised at that time.
We had to give them as much info as possible, as in birth certificate, death certificate, if there was no birth certificate then they wanted DOB, the big thing they wanted to make it easier for them was his army number, which fortunately we had.
We had such a wait because of the circumstances of lockdown and digitalisation. I believe the wait now is 3-12 months after they've received the relative information they require.

    Marnin'

Egg on toast, walk the dog, go and see my old dear, help my bro put a new shower in and then I'm off to an evening farmer's market thing tonight

Good event, I've done it for a few years now. It's not quite a mini festival, but it's got live music, street food, traders, a bar and just a nice family friendly vibe. It's on a farm, set up on the top of the banks of a river, lots of space for the kids to run around whilst Mum and Dad can have a drink and a bite to eat.

Posh area too, lots of yachty types around and one of those 'old money' kind of places where everybody is reasonably wealthy and some are stinking rich.

Which bodes well for me selling them stuff.

Just picked up a hire curtesy car while mine is getting fixed after a bird pranged me last week.

The irony? They have given me the same car as she drove into the back of me in, a Renault Capture.

Crappy little girl car, I've not driven anything as poky for years.

    It's just not right.

Just had a weird blood test result and have an appointment for a chat with my GP after a suspected gout attack earlier this month.

No ****ing about, straight onto my transplant consultant. Seems the uric acid was last tested when I was at end stage renal failure and on dialysis. So it’s sudden drop isn’t a worry for him, but my GP will be puzzled.

downside is, it’s probably arthritis and not gout. ****!

I tend to think patients generally know themselves what the problem might be, as a professional while they can look at the tests, they can't itemise every daily part of your life. So whether it;s gout or athritis is easier for you to weigh up yourself, and always keep the alternative in mind. But everything you've said makes sense is what I'm trying to say.

    Understand what you mean

yeah, years of looking at weekly/monthly bloods made me confident my reading of results that everything is okay and it was. My GP panicked me a little and consultant sorted that out in 15 mins.

just terrified of letting my donor down and things going wrong.

Now not sure if I want gout or arthritis…

You done the right thing. I look at it like this, if it seems related to an existing condition then I'll go to the consultant, if I'm unsure or think it's something new I go to the GP, but we as patients have the over-riding factor on what happens next, dependent on knowledge and information received.

I've tried to think gout or arthritis and it's much and much...

I'd probably say I'd not want gout only because I hate lifestyle changes and I believe it means not drinking beer.....**** that, and no matter what you do you are never getting rid of arthritis regardless, so I'd rather have the latter because the pain barriers will be identical.

    Well that's my logic anyway.
