Problem is the only way to stop knife crime to to arrest anyone carrying a knife, the only way to check who is carrying a knife is stop and search, the people doing the stabbing are black, whenever a black kid is stopped and searched the black community are up in arms screaming racial discriminastion
Black and ethnic minority kids in London are disproportionately represented when it comes to knife crime. It's not only black kids, but about 2/3 of knife crime is. It drops to 37% across the rest of the UK The problem in London and lots of cities is the stupid ****ing postcode wars that loads of youth get embroiled in. Young lads get caught 'slipping' and end up with a blade in them. I agree with stop and search, and I agree it's the only way to stop and disarm these little wannabe gangsters. There's a problem with racism in the MET police, that's not just me saying it, that's been established as fact. But this shouldn't prevent stop and search from happening.
There's a deeper issue going on here about disenfranchised kids, lack of good male role models, opportunities for good education, housing, decent jobs and wages. The fact that loads of youth centres and youth workers have been slashed (no pun intended) because Govt have cut funding to local councils has had an impact too. None of this justifies carrying a blade and the consequences should be harsh, but it does put it all into some context
They have developed a culture down there which glorifies this nonsensical ****, they genuinely bomb about the place thinking that stabbing one another is cool. You have pointed it out before, the music plays the primary role in this. Banning that music is pointless as banning things does not work, but those musicians make me sick. In fact, tons of modern day rap, which consists of ****s walking about in face tats and diamonds implanted into their face are a ****ing embarrassment to the genre. I remember growing up, rappers were Gs. An expensive suit was a sign of class, not a **** hoodie and a face tat I have noted black Londoners also have a big Youtube scene, mostly through KSI and his gang. These guys push videos where viewing women as purely sex objects, chasing clout and chasing money is an acceptable behaviour and the proper way to act. They promote a behaviour and way of talking in hard slang that is mostly unemployable and only understood in their small community. It's a mess, but what are the Gov gonna do? Have more lessons in school? Extremely rich people from these areas promote this ****.
Those same rappers who you describe as being classy were also accused of glorifying gangs, misogyny and gun violence though. It's only when they made tons of cash off the back of it that they started wearing expensive suits and driving around in G Wagons. I'm no fan of the little hood rat music, but I think blaming the music misses the point. Music generally is a reflection of what going on in these people's lives, there are a multitude of different factors driving it
