I think a few beers that have come out recently seem like a hybrid of the 2, I'm not a lager drinker, well not the mainstream ones anyway but do like things like Peroni gran riserva, which is boss.Freedom pils is good but better on draught, we have a rougharse pub our way that sell it they're the only ones, they keep the glasses in a fridge before serving, makes a lot of difference. Quite funny actually, load of bikers that like to look menacing, having their glass out of a fridge, good bunch really, just have to ease your way in with them.
I like a Guinness. My ex’s dad used to drink John Smith’s and that was dreadful. Tried some awful **** in a Spoons once as it was 99p or something and I was skint. Probably about £4 now.
Even I wouldn't drink John Smiths ffs. and @PINKIE an ale isn't meant to have 'citrus top note' - I'm out lol
Best IPA I've had are from the Firestone and Flying Dog companies but they are US based and not easy to get. The UK has a lot of catching up to do and generally use syrups to add the fruity flavours instead of brewing skill. Sierra Nevada are more easily obtained and as posted on here often the California IPA is superb. https://verdantbrewing.co/ It's a superb UK company think they are Devon based. Probably the best I've tried from over here.
£3.20 per can is my sticking point, it's beer FFS and these craft companies are taking the piss. Probably including it as well.
They had non of those little umbrella's behind the bar so didn't think I'd bother asking if they did it
The only unbrella I should see is the one sheltering me when I'm smoking outside. Although I've not smoked for 3+ years so doing well.
Think you all just need to admit to yourself beer is **** and you’d much prefer a nice glass of red or a cocktail.
It's like you said Luv, they are taking the piss. Not just aimed at Pinkie's mates, just fancy cans in general.
It's an IPA rather than a heavy ale, and an IPA will often have citrus flavours along with fruit. That's kind of the bedrock of an IPA But yeah I'm with you on the John Smiths and all of those heavy chemical ales, horrible nasty diarrhea inducing ****e lol
Great example from that Verdant link I posted, I buy their beer in my local when it's there £4.50 a pint. They are selling 440ml cans on the website for £6 a can.
