Advice for those who know employment law... Can I be forced to take part in filming of a documentary at work if I don't want to be on it? Note this isn't going to be on tv or anything but used for inductions/training etc. I'm not taking part anyway but it would be nice to have something to quote instead of doing it in a confrontational manner.
It's work related so I think they can film where they want and if you happen to be there tough luck. Could be wrong though.
But can I not withdraw my permission for something that will be shown to potentially thousands of people on induction over an unnamed number of years? Especially as I'm leaving the trust soon anyway. Well that's not relevant actually but it's among my reasons to not want to take part.
There's probably something in your contract that says as an employee you agree to be part of any promotional or training needs material, but I'd just speak to your manager and ask them that you don't want to be in it.
I'm guessing here but you are employed by them and they own/rent the building, if they want to film and you happen to be there then tough. You could ask not to be filmed and they should be fine about it but I don't think legally they are doing anything wrong.
