    Good Morning Everyone,

Jay Roy Grot scored his first Leeds goal yesterday for the u23's.

Surprisingly this was his first start for the yonngsters.

No wonder the poor guy looks rusty

According to the Sun, we are planning on raiding Villa for Tommy Elphick and Ross McCormack.

A reported sum of 7m has been banded about.

Is it a gamble - yes.

Is it a gamble worth taking?

The Sun have just released their 1St April lead story.
Or they better have done, of all the players not to touch with a bargepole McGreedycunt would be right up there.
Even I think Rad/Orta have more sense that to do this. If they think it would be popular with the fans the clearly don't even begin to understand us.

good morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey
It seems we are going to sigh the lad from Orient and are after the boy from West Brom well no one can say we put all our eggs in one basket!
However I still would have liked Marriot and Madison as well but maybe that's in the future
Mccontract no thank you a person who fails to open electronic gates has no intelligence what so ever even I can do it when we have power cuts
Elphick another overrated performer and wrong age ,No if we give Villa £7m then they will bag Marriot
Dack seems to be progressing well so why not swap him plus cash and throw in Antonsson

Went to see the u23s last night. Well, eventually. Missed the first 30 mins 'cos I went to TA & I should have gone to ER. Dick, eh?

Grot's goal was well taken & he was a busy boy. I could see why we bought him (even though he missed a penalty). Did a lot of work on the wing. Didn't get a lot of opportunity, tbh. The better chances came to Sarkic. He actually looks to me like someone who should be in the 1st team squad, but I do acknowledge that it's the only time I've watched him play. Some goodies & oddities to report:

    * I was hugely disappointed by Bailey Double-barrel's distribution. It wasn't bad - it was shocking. If he doesn't learn quick, he's out. This is not what TC's looking for. It's not all about stopping goals with TC, it's having a 'keeper that whips the team into action with his distribution to keep the tempo up.

    * We played with 3 at the back. Romario Vieira played in the middle of the 3! He was really good at it too!

    * We seemed to play a 3-4-1-2 formation. Most odd. Grot & Sarkic up front, with Machuca playing behind them.

    * Jack Clarke came on for Machuca with 30 mins to go & was disappointing, given the write-up he's got. Could be a lot of reasons for that, but he somehow seemed a bit detached & disinterested.

    * For the last 5 minutes, Oduor came on for Sarkic - up front! I thought he was a midfielder. Don't understand why Clarke wasn't moved up to the front.

    * Still getting all instructions shouted from the dugout in Spanish. Really irritates me.

    * Really warming to Shackleton in midfield. He's consistently energetic & involved no matter where the ball is. A real prospect.

    * Balboa was on the bench. Last match I went to, he impressed me as a striker. Bloody strong. Sat on bench for 90. Mallik didny even make the bench.

    * Denton did ok, but I still have reservations about him being 1st team material. Ever. Hope I'm wrong.

Isn't Macontract in Australia, or was?

    Yep, he's still in Ozzie.

Just put a link to the McCormack story on the January transfer thread before coming on here. Looks like more **** journalism to me.....

Read yesterday somewhere about us offering Antonsson plus a large sum of money (£3M ??) for Bradley Dack. Decent player and was very highly rated at Gillingham (although that's not saying much).

Thanks for the write up WJ... couple of points, Grot won the penalty but didn’t take the pen... think it was Sarkic... good save anyway rather than terrible pen.

Surprised by bpf’s distribution... considered to be a strength of his game. Hopefully just a bad day at the office.

A lot of the fringe players haven't been playing in U23's.......makes you wonder what's happening, and how can TC expect these players to perform
    with no regular game time.

Seriously, the picture regarding TC is slowly coming together for me.

Since they canned reserve team football it’s tricky for squad players. They play no competitive football then get chucked in en masse in the league and fa cups... not just at Leeds. It’s hardly surprising performances are hit and miss.

U23s are meant to be for developing kids. And although you can field a few (3?) overage players the standard and pace of the game is so different it’s not considered anything more than a fitness run out for first team players.

I think we've got enough U23's now to form 2 teams, going to be interesting if all the young players Orta's bringing in can't get a game, or regular game time.

Maybe @brb could give us more of an insight into Dack and whether he would be good enough to excel in the Championship.

I read an article last night that the blunts would be willing to sell Billy Sharp back to us at the right price. The bloody cheek of it.

Milky it has shown the stupidity of some of our purchases. We keep drafting kids in and think we will have around 8 forwards in the U23s when the new kid lands today. Clarke who is supposed to be a high flyer left on the bench then brought on in the wrong position. The first team squad should all be good enough to play in the first team so that we can rest players by rotation (TC said they were). However as we know TC has a bunch of players who play every match just like Monk did and it hurt the dressing room last season according to Ayling. Will we have the same result or will TC now use his squad. Grot and Cibicki & Klich were deemed not good enough for first team so sat on the bench and Klich hardly got on the bench. So it must follow that the players Orta brought in are not good enough? In the case of Klich many are still scratching their heads (maybe not on here). We get him from a top Dutch team yet he doesn't get game time. Top German and Dutch teams were chasing him and he signed a loan deal with Utrecht yesterday. Chesh compares the top Dutch League to the Scots Prem, which implies its not as good as the Championship FFS. Ajax, PSV, Feyenord, FC Twente are maybe the most famous clubs but there are plenty more and Utrecht are sitting 6th in the league, they won the league not long ago and have won the cup. Klich in a couple of interviews had a dig at the way he was handled at Leeds, and I reckon he wont be back. So with the addition of LVB and Foreshaw and we get back our suspended players including a fit Ekuban, maybe we will be able to rotate more, but Im afraid Cibicki and Grot need to do more if they are capable or go to the U23s but that will stop the progress of existing U23 players?
