I think that most forget that Radz has already splashed out since the transfer window closed.

He's signed umpteen players on long term contracts.

If you think the players all signed on the same money as before & didn't get a signing on fee, then you're more naive than most.

A big chunk of that war chest has already been spent on improved terms & re-signing bonuses.

None of the war chest will have gone there. Four year contracts just means 48 monthly pay packets for each player paid for from clubs earnings over next 48 months and not from past signings. Club also has an extra 3or 4K fans at each of the 23 home games on average. That’s another extra couple of million to cover whatever better terms players may have got. Sorry Wj, I don’t believe that’s where the moneys gone. Buying Elland Road more likely

I don't think we'll have spent any of the cash on ER. Isn't that owned by a separate Radz company?

Good point about the extra ticket revenue, but whilst it might cover the increase in wages, it wouldn't cover the sign-on bungs. Any player signing a 4 year contract expects a big sign-on fee. It's par for the course. Always has been. Not only that, but if you have a strict wage structure like us, these sign-on / loyalty fees are the method commonly used to get round the structure, so you can sign up the players that command higher incomes.

And, of course, there's actually nothing to suggest (yet!) that the 'war chest' has actually been squirrelled away.

There’s also 2m a year rent we were paying for Elland Road that Rad also said would now go into the squad. Should cover a good lump of the signing on fees

If Bates had got his way, all we would have had left was dreams. :(

Fortunately, he is now dead to us :D

Can someone explain to me how you think Rad has invested any nett cash into lufc. I am not talking about buying the club and ground. Those are assets he now owns and the value of both have increased.

income far exceeds expenditure by tens of millions of pounds.. if Bates had done this most would be going mental rather than beatifying him.
