Good Morning Everyone, True to Leeds Utd form, having played well in the majority of our last few games, it was time for the wheels to come off again. And we weren't let down... You would think that the team would have wanted to end their home season with a bang (well at least a few sparklers), but it was not meant to be. On the whole, in the last 10 games, the players have been performing better, I wonder if this one result could come back and bite Evans on the ass? Anyone superstitious? Could Glory have influenced the score by attending his first game in months? Kissa has retired.... please log in to view this image I'm sure we all wish him well. Can anyone explain this?
The Star say that Leeds boss Steve Evans will be given a war fund to achieve what it calls “major transfer plans.” It was obvious to those 25,000+ fans watching the Whites lose 2-1 to already-relegated Charlton at Elland Road yesterday that something needs to be put into place; Evans believes this will require around six new faces to arrive at Leeds to mount a serious promotion charge. Quoted in The Star, Leeds boss Evans said: “I believe we need between four and six quality players.” Evans then went on to say: “If that happens I will deliver the play-offs next season, given the opportunity.” That ‘opportunity’ could very well be in the hands of Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino with the club being non-commital on whether they will retain the Scot’s services beyond his short-term contract that effectively ends after next Saturday’s Preston game. On that front, Evans said that he expects things to be put in motion soon and his future at Elland Road to be decided upon, one way or another. “There were a lot of positive, constructive things said about myself. “I gave my views on what we need to win promotion next season and he gave his. “Time beat us yesterday but the decision on my future may come sooner than the Preston game. I think Mr Cellino is ready to make his decision.”
Morning Elland and all. With reference to Evans comments, targeting the playoffs next season is not enough. Autos should be our target. The playoffs are merely a lottery as will be shortly proven my our wally friends reaching the playoffs and then getting a battering
Evans is just throwing comments in the dark.... Cellino has not got the common human decency to have even discussed Evans future with him. I can't stand Evans and his boring football style but have some sympathy. Nobody would be fully focused on their current role when they might be looking for a new one in a week or twos time. BTW I went to the previous home game and we won 3-2. Although we deserved to lose!
Sounds like, Cellino might keep him (or Evans believes so)? Doesn't need to make a decision on releasing him as he will be out of contract? Morning btw
Evans is off to Peterborough. Can't blame him, Cellino has done his usual and treated him like a servant....
Why would he want to go to a smaller club, unless his contract is not renewed. Interesting what he said in his presser afterwards “Time beat us yesterday but the decision on my future may come sooner than the Preston game. I think Mr Cellino is ready to make his decision.” Evans is dangling his own hook. Calling Cellino out.
We haven't had the players, I sure you'll agree, bar Snodds, Howson, Byram... Lesser players cannot perform in the same way and have to stick to the basics.
Morning ristac, I reckon Evans has no idea, and if I were in Evans' shoes I would just wabt to know, as its the not knowing that is the worst.
Fair enough. You were saying yesterday that the 1/2 money back on season tickets is a scam. Is that right?
Brighton are at home to Derby and Burnley are at home to QPR today. If they both win today, Boro will be pushed to 3rd, and we know what the play offs can be like. Surely, financially, if Boro don't go up, they must be in big trouble?
Looking at that German goal; if we had those nets Wood would have scored a bag full. Cellino/Evans no point in speculating as we'l be the last to find out and even then Cellino could change his mind. He hasn't delivered any of his promises and the fans have taken a dislike to him and his family. He's lost the respect of anyone in football with his sackings and especially lost tribunals. So as even his son getting fined could be the make or break we need. he must know he needs to win promotion and buy back ER next season or he needs to **** off
God knows..... The club website on Saturday said st holders would get the money as a discount against a 17/18 renewal. I only checked because that's what the half time pitch announcer said on Saturday. But by yesterday morning website had changed to say it's a refund in the conventional way. Although it's 18% of purchase price not 25%. I had a moment of weakness and was thinking about getting two, but after watching the ****e we have produced in last two home games I won't be bothering. Cellino has to go, Evans has to go. Cook has to go ( to fund five decent players with championship experience). Before I consider getting season tickets. The away trips to Wigan, villa, Burnley, Sunderland/ Newcastle and whisper it Millwall are carrots but still not doing it.
Even if we won the championship, the prem , the greed is good league and had a brand new 80,000 stadium. Vvvvvvvvvvvvvv
