We need an owner with far deeper pockets than Cellino. He simply doesn't have the spare cash to bankroll the club to any great extent for several seasons so basically we're back to the Bates era
Its not just the lack of money to invest (throw away), it's the whole thing of getting his name in the paper on everything to do with the club. There is zero delegation, no one but him has any power yet everyone but him has total responsibility. It's like watching a carry on film. Not funny and you know how things are going to pan out weeks before they do. He needs to sell the club.
Eire. That's my point, why buy the club if you can't have a proper go at getting it promoted. That's where the big money is.
I suspect he hadn't a clue what investment would be required or he wouldn't have bothered. Just a hunch
That Dani Alves aint a bad player. I know he's 32, so would only get a years contract, even so, hope Cellino is watching.
Some are saying we need an owner with deeper pockets and to spend more on buying players, respectfully of course, doesn't the saying "deep pockets" mean someone who is tight fisted? that would rule out any Yorkshiremen and Scotsmen then. I know it would be nice to pay out a few million for some good players, but we have to remember Cellino was made aware of the recent embargo, and we certainly don't want to get into another next season. I'm actually in favour of the 1 year contract for players 30 and over, it stops us having, or attracting journeymen looking for a last big payday. We've had these in past and many fans were calling for getting rid of'em, even last season, which Cellino did. Many fans have also been agreeing with the fact that British footballers seem to be too expensive, even at 30 and over, hence why Cellino, and Rosler to a certain extent have been looking overseas for players. We brought Becchio in from overseas for peanuts, and he turned out to be a great future asset for Leeds. I know he's only one example and some other examples didn't work out, but the same can be said for British players too. I say bring back Adryan, his alleged price tag is peanuts compared to the future potential of being a great asset for Leeds United. I personally rate Adryan higher than Murphy and his 1 mill we paid for him. When it comes down to nuts and bolts, it's all about fitting the right pegs in right holes, no matter what they cost.
