Good Morning Everyone, Silvestri turned from villain to hero in one kicked as he kept his head, making a fantastic penalty save from Murphy. Leeds went ahead on 71 minutes courtesy of a Mowatt free kick, which in reality the keeper should have done a little better. If you think the goal keeping was bad there, you'll need a stiff drink after watching this one. Three minutes later the tractor boys were level after Silvestri's blunder sees the ball trickle into the back of his net. Leeds however were not finished there. A speculative ball was played into the box, and there was Sharp, who turned, and tucked the ball away in the corner of the goal. 2-1 Leeds. More drama was to follow... Bamba decided he wanted to punch the ball away. (WHAT THE HELL WAS HE THINKING) Anyway, Silvestri made up for his blunder, and Leeds held on to a well deserved 3 points. Here are the other highlights. How many times have we seen Silvestri make blunders? Is Bamba a liability? Is Sharp a natural goal scorer? Should he be given an extended run in the team? Town fans, did you deserve anything from the game?
Morning Elland and all. personally think Silvestri is by and large excellent. Hes had a few blunders but dont forget his man of the match performances, particularly early in the season. He earned us quite a few points early doors when no one else was performing and we could now be in trouble without him.Good chance we can hit 60 points. Would be a great return given Redders didnt have first third to the season. Good crowd of nearly 23k for a midweek nothing match. Natives are obviously happy enough
Morning Silvestri is an average keeper depite what those who think Bradford is a financial powerhouse might tell you. Bamba is a great addition to the team, yep made a couple of bloopers, but you can see him giving all the team direction and confidence. Sharp is likelable but he aint going to be ever getting us 20 plus goals in a season. The only negative from last night was, we kept trying to score another at 2-1, and we would at times have been much better running the clock down in the corners or taking an easy pass backwards into midfield. We kept letting them hit us with counter attacks by coughing up easy possesion.
Morning Eire, We are definitely moving in the right direction now. We need to cut out the kamikaze defending.
Hey, I did well to remember it was 19,000 and whatever. I only saw the attendance for a second on the big screen and havent read any reports. The pickled paddy had all night to get the correct numbers and was miles out.
Morning fellas Hope you're all well, have been away for a bit. Managed to catch second half on the radio last night and thought we'd blown it again with a late penalty! Glad Sharp bagged another but think Glory is right, can't see him being a 20 goal a season striker.
From what I have seen, really like Bamba, he will make the odd mistake here and there but he does seem a lot more like a leader than anyone else in the team and it almost seems like he'll give his life for the three points at times. Him and Bellusci have been by far our best centre back pairing this season and I really wasn't a fan of Bellusci early season. Silvestri is still quite young, good shot stopper but does have acccidents in gim. You would expect those mistakes will leave his game as he ages. Agree with everyone else, Sharp ain't a 20 goal a season striker anymore. Is better than the squad strikers we have had in the past though.
Morning all, Talking about goalkeepers who have mistakes in them, it's a mystery to me how Ben Foster at WBA has managed to carve out a career in the top flight for so long, as well as represented England. He's a good shot stopper but there's always a howler waiting to happen with him. Exactly the same type of keeper as Silvestri, but at least Silvestri is young enough to improve and minimise the mistakes.
Good day one and all, Thailand was spectacular, not pleased to be back, but such is life Interesting w/e of fixtures coming up, quite a few teams it the top third playing each other, on a different front, if the Wallies get beat and we let Wigan beat us thats them doomed, but i think the kiddy fiddlers from Rotherham shall be the the other team to go down.
Well I only saw it on an ipad screen not a big feckin 24 ft yoke so thats my mistake for reading it wrong
With the odd mistake that we know Bamba will make each game, could we play 5 at the back, maybe have Bamba play in a sweeper role, as we know he likes to get forward
