Good Morning Everyone, Three days to Christmas! Who's in the festive spirit? Looking back at the performance from the City Ground, I'd have to say, we did alright!!! Here are some of the extended highlights. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2...dders-lewis-cook-skysports-lufc_sport?start=2 Here's the link :- I think we were lucky with the offside decisions. Think on another day, they both could have stood, and we could have gone away with a 3-1 loss. On individual performances, Cook had a blinder, Byram did well and I was pleasantly impressed with Sharp. As I have said for the last few weeks, Byram is not a great defender, but the side will have a much better shape if Byram plays midfield wide right. A case in point was the penalty on Saturday. It down to Byram going forward, and having good footwork. Why can't we defend from set pieces. If Forest were any good at Corners, we could have been in real trouble!!! There is talk that Leeds will not get the 9m (out of the 11m) for Ross McCormack UNLESS Fulham get promoted! What is the worst Christmas gift you have ever recieved? Who was it from? Do you still have it?
Morning all A decent result but we need a few more now otherwise we start to look like relegation fodder. Has Thompson taken any credit for Saturday or are we actually looking a better unit. Sharp should stay in the mix and play with Mirco in a 4-4-2 as everyone knows our diamond is suspect. Any news about MC's defence/appeal against Harvey yet? Worst present was when my old mate Ken dropped by for a glass of egg nog. He raped the dog, ate the budgy, shat on the carpet, emptied the fridge and then sold the house to GFH
Morning all. Have never had a bad Cliffmas pressy. Possibly some jumpers haven't been the greatest fit ever, but other than that, content with everything I've ever received. That said, your point is well made Doc.
Morning Elland - Did you not feel Byram got caught for pace and skinned by Atonio far too many times? Good going forward but his number one priority should be to defend? Forests first disallowed goal was Byram getting beat down the line and allowing a cross in. Pleased with the point but could so easily have been a 3-1 defeat to a very poor looking Forest team who have as much chance of making the play off as we do on that performance. I think Sharp is better than Doukara but I can't say I am his biggest fan, at 17 I am also worried we are relying on Cook too much at the moment, a win against Wigan is now a must. I have finished work now so starting to feel in the Christmas spirit
Morning ristac, great point about Byram, yes, you've got it. When I went to the Fulham game, Glory was screaming at Byram, as he kept getting skinned all the time. All he does is to slow them down, and block crosses. At one point Glory went purple... Going forward, he's not the quickest, but he has great feet, and can can, can put in great crosses. We need to use him as a midfielder. Don't get Glory started on Beradi! We need someone of Doukara's stature, that is comfortable holding up the ball. I've got two more days of work. Us estate agents work hard!
I often used to fancy a career change and become an estate agent, no reason or logic behind that statement
Morning all. Saturday was a decent performance and result given recent hammerings we got off forest. I still believe having a decent number two should add something positive to our setup. Finishing tomorrow for the xmas and meeting a couple of mates home from the states for the hols so looking forward to all that. Win against Wigan and things mightnt look too bad at all, at least to some of us
Morning Eire, Agree, the back room staff could make the difference of 15 points to a season. Someone here mentioned getting a decent defensive coach in. Could be worth their weight in gold.
I see Paul McShane has fell out with Bruce at Hull, I wonder if we might go for someone like him on loan when the window opens. He signed for Hull in 2011 so I would imagine his contract is coming towards the end? Boro's February clash with Leeds United has been moved to a 12.15pm kick-off after it was confirmed the game will be shown live on Sky.
More rumours we are signing Pavoletti in January, really not sure it is a position of priority but has a decent record in Italy I believe
Well with a transfer embargo ruling out any fee's you might be hard pressed to find anyone decent willing to join us and being made available for free
