Good Morning Everyone forom a hot and sunny Southampton, How are we? Bet Fair remain the only bookies not to suspend the betting on the next Leeds Manager with Eamonn Dolan reching odds of 1/16 last night. Cellino has been told that he will need to stump up £400,000 by Reading. Cellino has been ordered to pay the £950,000 that Haigh had lent the club last year. Lawyers acting for the club told the court that the payment will be made quickly. If we appoint Dolan as Manager / coach, there is a better chance that we would be able to capture one of our top targets. Dean Moxey, a left back can also play as sweeper, striker or goalie!!!! He is 28 years old. Dean started his career as a 17 year old, under Dolan's supervision at Exeter City. We should expect official word today about the sale of Cagliari has been completed. I wonder whether Cellino will now loosen the purse strings?
Morning guys If we are expected to stump up cash for Dolan, then it aint going to be Dolan. Who would people prefer between Dolan and tim Sherwood, as both have the same credentials although Sherwood was used by spuds as a stop gap manager last season. On pre coaching, tactics and development Dolan is the more experienced so in theory Dolan would be the best prospect - discuss. I still think the whole thing at Leeds borders on a farce, and until we the fans understand what is happening and what the plan is we will just have to suffer in silence as usual. Its pointless banging on about managers/coaches/players until we see something concrete and if after seeing what's happening I think its stupid I will vote with my feet again and just say **** it its a joke
Morning Elland and all. Hope Cagliari sale was completed as well see Cellino full time at Elland Road and should speed up the Leeds revival. Strange, a week ago, I knew nothing about Dolan, now I'm hoping he gets the job, based mainly on Readings fans opinions of him. So far it's been mainly about people leaving Leeds under Cellino, it'll be interesting to see some coming in soon And Doc, given the wages ere offering for the coach job, Sherwood is but a pipe dream. He simply wouldn't work for a couple of hundred grand a year having managed in the pl
Morning all, hopefully the new coach will be appointed very soon and the sale of Cagliari will be concluded as well. It cannot help having Cellino having to split his attentions and wallet to both clubs. It wouldn't be so bad if he did not wish to scout and purchase players he see's fit to join us. It might also help him to keep his promise of buying back ER before the end of the year (his revised promise that is)
Morning all. Who the phark is Dolan & what will he bring to the club? I know Cellino has already put plenty of money into the club, and about another 950k is going out the door. Just shows how much of a mess GFH made of things. & some on here thought Papa Smurf was a prat!! A devine saviour by comparison. Heyho, so the WC starts tomorrow. Lucky us. & not a Vuvuzela in sight. How poor is that?
Morning all, when we going to see the new kit? Its usually out for the last home game of the season! After doing a bit of research Dolan doesnt sound the worst appointment ever. Sticking point will be the compo to Reading and if he can handle the limelight of Elland Road. As for Sherwood, as Eire pointed out I cant see him taking the drop, not in the league in the wallet!
bucks & Eire I obviously haven't explained fully what I was trying to say ...... I'm not wanting Sherwood unlike some prem clubs, I was trying to demonstrate that Dolan was in fact better qualified than Sherwood but more fans would take Sherwood over Dolan. I was trying to see the good points about him being given the chance
Forgot to mention that Cellino will still spend mor of his time in Miami because thats where he lives, and where a lot of his business is done. he will be just like Bates in some respects because h will be absent most of the time. So people thinking that he will be taking training, running tactics, talent scouting around the world, picking the team and other such bollox, he won't thats why he's employing a coach (Benny will be keeping an eye on things football though)
Its as full as ever Eire. I just want us to get a decent Manager/coach who will be here for the long term. For the past few years, we've lacked either a decent Manager, or a lack of funds, or some purchases that haven't worked out, or whatever else. We now have a chairman with some dosh, but he wants more of an active role in the club. We had a decent Manager who would have taken us forward eventually given time, but he and the chairman came to a parting of the ways. The chairman has now got to stump up a further £950k just to get rid of GFH. We will move forward. But I have the patience of a welk and just waant to see it happen a tad quicker than is currently the case.
I knew what you were saying Doc. Like I've said on many occasion, it won't matter who comes in if we don't have the right players.
Doc, I can't see Cellino ever taking traing, or talking tactics. But as you say, he's employing Carbone to do a lot of the leg work for him. Let's hoe that Carbone and the new coach/Manager can work together. Probably missed it, but is Redfearn still in charge of the development squad & Naylor in charge of the youth team?
Boggers I think Redfearn and Naylor don't have anywhere to work as TA has the gates locked just now. Benny will be advising his boss about costs at TA including staff and I bet one of them will be gone soon, and if some of Redfearns kids dont make the first team squad, you can bet he will be gone. Byram, Poleon, Mowatt, Dawson and at least 2 more kids need to have made it otherwise whats the point of the academy and Redfearn. The big problem though is around parents wanting their kids to be at a place where they will get eduacted and coached. TA only does coaching and in itially charges parents. We cannot compete with Man City for the best local kids anymore unless we invest. Redfearn has done about as good as he can with what he had, but unless kids make it through then .....
This is what you need Cellino to buy the ground A new manager 7/8 players to get you challenging for a top 20 spot this season A new bank account A new training ground New sponsors Not much to ask really - lucky for you Cellino has lots of staff to help him
The Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has sold Cagliari to an Italian company Fluorsid Group, the Serie A club have announced. Fluorsid, a chemical company based in Cagliari and owned by the Giulini family, has acquired a 100% stake of the Sardinia football club for a reported €45m (£36m). A statement from the club read: “Today a contract has been signed for the sale of the 100% stake of Cagliari Calcio to Fluorsid Group.”
Good points well made Doc. All points to the need for us to get back into the PL asap. Having said that, why would a kid want to go to Citeh when they seem only interested in buying expensive imports? I know the FFP rules might change things in time. But for now, they don't seem that interested. Even Milner is thinking of moving on, and Micah Richards is going to have to if he wants an England career.
