Really don't like the sound of this Cellino guy. We are going about it right, we aren't seeing the benefits on the pitch yet but this longer term thinking is the way to go imo. and we will get there, if we are impatient we will regret it.
Morning Josh, agree. Will Cellino have to pass the due diligence test with the FA please log in to view this image
Firstly, Johnny757, that will NEVER be our lineup cos they have red ... elland, politically correct gangster ... Haigh always said his aim was to bring in partners to help push the club on, and its clear GFH won't spend so he's moving ahead with Sport Capital ... Cellino seems to be part of the bid, which makes sense while he owns Cagliari, but expect him to buy 100% once he's sold them ... looks like Cellino 75%, Haigh & Co 15% and GFH 10% right now .... GFH need to get this through asap, give McD a few days to get two more in as a minimum Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
We can take wild guesses until we actually find out what the hell is going on, but whatever's happened this week hasn't been good for relationships between GFH and haigh, Haigh and the fans, BMCD and the club. Don Corleono is involved, not involved, advising Haigh, hijacking the deal? We don't know but one thing we do know is that yet again we are a laughing stock. One thing Bates was good at: We do our business behind closed doors. Maybe there's a lesson for haigh there and maybe we wouldn't have this issue since November as we would have found out this week when GFH Capital's shares rose
This kinda pisses me off to be honest (and thats not directed at you doc by the way, just continuing the conversation). I actually agree with this comment by the way. Everyone always criticised bates for doing this, they want transparency in the club and so on, I constantly defended Bates for doing all his business behind closed doors. I do believe that is the way to do it, its not only professional but fans don't really need to know every single goings on about the club, the team should be the main priority and major announcements should be made by the club for the fans but apart from that their isn't that much required, maybe at best someone employed by the club as a communicator between the owner and the fans but it shouldn't be so direct so that certain things can be filtered. Back to the point though, everyone criticises when its not transparent and then when it is transparent everyone complains as well, make your mind up, what do people actually want.
Josh the problem here is that Haigh has gone to the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Being a director of a company I am not allowed to speculate, tell staff about developments until they are completed unless it is anything that will affect their terms and conditions. Bates shrouded everything behind smoke and mirrors right down to the owners/investors. Haigh tells me everytime he goes for a shyte. I think he thought he was giving us what we wanted but now learning that its a double edged sword. You have to give the audience what you promise and right now he's looking stupid and out of his depth. Especially when the company he's a director of have dumped on him ....
I don't want to return to the dark days of Bates secrecy and underhand dealings, like most, I welcome transparency. However, putting stuff out in the public that is not true in this era is downright stupid. Haigh promised good new this week and now fans on twitter, waccoe etc are livid because like so many of his promises, looks like being bullshit. Why can't he wait till stuff is signed and sealed, then tweet or whatever and maybe give some reason for any delays if he feels the need to. At this moment, he is his own worst enemy
So we swap a bloke who hasn't played for ages, for a bloke who hasn't played for ages ! Seriously though Elland, where did you get this news from ?
It would seem that current owners want McD out, reason given that they have lost faith and wouldn't sanction money for Barnes. He's not in a good place unless Haigh and his imaginary consortium manage to cobble together a deal. So one step forward, two steps back ..... again
There's an old saying that is usually accurate: "Never Go Back" and there will be some fans who are chuffed if Luciano comes back and there will those fans who boo him because he wanted to leave to get more money and he's not good enough for the prem. I think Eire may be right about GFH losing confidence in the manager. What a sorry arsed state the club is still in
Haigh is not "breaking" any "news", he is responding to speculation and leaks ... I think GFH are messing about because they want more money if they can get it ... GFH don't seem to have the cash to run the club never mind buy players, and the sooner Haigh moves them aside the better ... Haigh has never said he has bucketloads to invest, but has always said he will work hard to bring investors in to help push us on ... so far he is doing okay, and he needs time to do his thing, at least he genuinely wants to make a difference ... GFH allegedly wanting to sack McD shows they don't have a clue if they expected him to have us top of the league ... we simply can't compete financially until we get serious investment, example - Swansea have bid £4m for Ngog from Bolton, his record this season in the Championship is played 19 and scored 4 ... so surely McCormack must be worth £6m ... the problem is when Prem clubs with far too much loot go and bid stupid money for a less than dynamic player, it over inflates other players' prices because comparisons get made ... if we had gone and bid £1m for Ngog there would be serious complaints on here because we'd be saying he's average and we don't need a player who's scored less than Smith ... well, there you go, £4m for a player who we probably wouldn't want in our team, so let's give McD and Haigh the chance to do their thing and push us on
Last time .... Becchio didn't want to leave, he simply wanted his contract renewed, and he earned it (just like Beckford) ... Warnock the prick wanted him out (along with Bates as it meant he didn't have to pay more wages) and did the deal of the century to swap him for Morison ... remember, Becchio didn't ask for a transfer, Leeds went to Norwich and asked if they could do a deal, so don't blame the lad ... Bates had a very good track record for selling off players once they had earned a new contract/wage increase ... still completely baffled why he let a 30 goals in a season scorer leave on a free
WW its getting more legs by the minute mate: http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014...fa-approval-stands-between-cellino-and-leeds/ Billy its a well known fact that Becchio's agent was touting around for another club a couple of months before he went. He wanted a wage rise and told everyone he was a premier league player who deserved better. There was a big falling out because he was told he wasn't pulling his weight and was cruising and posing through some games.
