The reason Wells is so popular is that he's comparatively cheap. He won't sign a contract for the club, so his value has plummeted. I'd hazard a guess that £1m would secure his services. Byram has a long contract, so imho, is worth considerably more than Wells. Hopefully it's academic as we don't want to sell off our young talent.
Byrams a good player we all know that and as stated is tied to a long contract so it would be costly to try to buy him, but if he was worth it then the clubs would be queueing regardless
They have already rejected a bid of 1m from an unnamed championship club, word is they want closer to 2m. I reckon they'd settle for less though especially closer to the end of the window considering Nahki Wells has openly said he wants to be playing championship football next season at the very latest.
Lets re-word it then. He is probably worth less money than what we value him, we aren't desperate for a sale though so no need to lower the price for him. I still think premier league clubs would happily pay millions for him though
even now, to get player of the season at a championship club when you are still a teenager is impressive even if that team did only come midtable. Look at his efforts in the cup last season and thats why teams were circling in the summer. Admittedly he hasn't got going this season but there is still enough evidence there for a prem club to see
His passing is dire alright, but he does give 100%, maybe that kind of commitment was needed against Rochdale...
QPR offered that and were told no, £2m or he goes nowhere... Can't see them meaning that so I guess they are holding out for a better offer of around £1.5m
Byram is still a baby, overplayed last season, carried an injury and its blunted his progress but he'll return and be even better ... we must not sell this lad as he's going to be awesome once he adds some strength to his scrawny frame ... Mowatt the same, no need to rush him Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Once again, you missed my point, old bean. My sword is pointing firmly in the direction of the hypocritical Council who believe they never do any wrong. It's a pot, kettle & black story. They set standards but don't comply with them themselves. I agree with Harvey that this should be pointed out. I don't agree that the 'deep dive' scrutiny should have been ignored. I personally believe it should be in place for all Council transactions of this ilk - even if it's retrospectve.
