The first major Premier League deal has gone through, Daniel Sturridge has just signed for Liverpool for £12m. http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport...12m-capture-of-chelseas-daniel-sturridge.html
I like Sturridge, I wanted him at the Euro's ahead of Welbeck. Hopefully he can get his career back on track
Not seen that much of him, what I seen I don't really rate him. Heard Ray Wilkins say he would a played more if he accepted playing wide but thought he could dislodge Drogba from Chelsea. Tit. Only a ****ing idiot would join Liverpool anyway.
Which is the better piece of business. Sturridge for £12m or Ba for £7m. At the moment it looks to me like Ba is the better bet.
So Chelsea are selling Sturridge and are going to be left with Demba Ba and £4-5M in cash. That's a pretty good bit of business once the ACoN is over with.
Newcastle have now confirmed that Demba Ba will not be in the squad for their game against Everton tonight, as he's at Chelsea discussing personal terms, it looks like he's definitely on his way.
Does this thread want stickying? I know we've had one of these stuck throughout a transfer window before but we're a bit heavy on stickies at the moment. What do people think?
It was a decent thread during the last window, you might as well sticky it and if it's not continually in use, you can always pull it.
Sturridge will do well at Liverpool should he be given the striker role in front of Suarez. Demba Ba had a release clause in his contract for 7.5m and obviously Liverpool can't compete with Chelsea. Liverpool are also trying to send back Sahin to Madrid because his wages are too high. I think I heard that Inter are interested.
and it'll be a big mistake for both of them. Why move yet? Unless Liverpool are planning on loaning both out, they'll just be benched. Although I have heard a rumour that Pepe Reina is on the move, Arsenal seem to be the club most interested.
Ba is a steel for that price. Newcastle would be looking for double if he did have this mad clause in his contract. At the back end of the last season Ba stopped scoring and Cisse stepped up so they will be hoping the same happens again
He'll certainly bring them a fair few shillings in should he go. Will, without a doubt, be playing for England in a few years time.
Just to clarify, Ba's clause only applies to CL clubs so we couldn't go for him. He'll do we'll for Chelsea and Sturridge could do well for us. We'll see.
