Newcastle's U18s will face Chelsea in the Quarter Finals of the FA Youth Cup at SJP on Monday night with a7.05pm kick-off (shown live on Chelsea TV).

In an effort to boost the attendance, United confirm that entry to the tie will be free of charge for all supporters.

In common with ties up to this point of the competition, a result must be achieved on the night - via 30 minutes of extra time and then a penalty shootout if needs be.

The Blues eliminated United at the same stage last season thanks to a 3-2 win on Tyneside that was watched by 2,500 fans and went on to lift the cup.

Victory over Chelsea would set up a two-legged semi-final tie against either Nottingham Forest or Spurs, with the Magpes enjoying home advantage in the second leg.

United have made it to this stage thanks to a trio of away wins, against Millwall, Boro and the mackems.

Chelsea meanwhile have carried on the form that has seen them top the southern section of the U18 Premier League and score 66 goals in 20 games (including 12 in one game against Aston Villa and eight in the return).

Beaten just three times in the league - the last in early November - their FA Youth Cup defence began with a 2-0 win at Leeds before home victories over Huddersfield Town (6-1) and Swansea City (6-0).

    Daniel Barlaser -

"Hopefully we can get as many people as possible down to support the lads, because it's really going to be a tough game," the Gateshead-born midfielder told nufcTV.
"They (Chelsea) have got unbelievable side but with the character and desire we've got, I think we can do it and win."
"All the lads have been sensational," said Barlaser, who also played a part in last term's run to the last eight.
"We had a strong team last year but the character in the team is absolutely fantastic and to win the three games that we have in the way we have has been fantastic.
"Hopefully we can maybe go one step further (than last season), beat Chelsea and get to the semi-finals."

    Adam Armstrong

"The youth cup's a massive tournament and all the lads love it," Armstrong told nufcTV.
"When we played last year, it was a massive buzz and now we've got Chelsea again so we'll see what happens."
But England under-18 international Armstrong - who was captain in the last round at the Stadium of Light - insisted: "On the day, anything can happen.
"We played Chelsea last year and gave it a right good go. They came out better on the day with the quality they had, but we'll go in strong for it."

Over 11,000 at the game tonight - tho mainly kids. I took my nephew for his first experience of St James. Shame about the result but at least I got in there first to convert another one!

Is he aware that as a newly converted lifelong fan he should now refuse to go again until the Ashley regime is no more?

Sounded like a great effort. Over 11,000 for a U18 QF is just ridiculous.

I'm just concerned from the above posts that Nevkarta were using it as an opportunity for a mission to 'convert' more folk to their special fan club.

No, you win by applying skill and knowledge. They don't like your sort. You're a threat.

my extra curricular activities are quite common, I'll have you know...

Exactly, they wont let anyone who's a threat join their little cheating club.
Not that I want too anyway...
Trevor is probably a member as well.
