Two early breakthroughs tomorrow to polish 'em off hopefully. But let's not get to cocky until England have had a bat!
England let the Aussies escape a bit there. The last two wickets after the change of ball put a gloss on it. Still we finished well, now have to finish them off quickly and bat well ourselves. Long way to go yet.
In fact, some of the Aussie team said as much. This is the press and fans talking mainly and it would have been the same here I guess. Loved Broad showing the ball to the crowd after his five wickets.
We've let them off the hook a little, if the truth be told. It could have been better, but I suppose England would have taken the score as it stands, at the beginning of play. The Aussies must be cursing their press for firing up Broad, it serves Lehmann right for stoking that up too.
not exactly extensive highlights, but the wickets are shown here
Yes, I have just finished watching them and the cricket was good but the coverage was awful! It was like watching the keystone cops as they seem to have the action av Bout 10% faster than in real life and they zoomed in, presumably to edit out the Sky or other sponsors names which would have been there otherwise. It was barely watchable (on freesat as I don't so Sky boxes)
Yeah the Pick coverage was obviously stolen from Sky. Not the best but I'll take what I can. Pace isn't everything in a bowler and he kept it tight but Tremlett was down below 80mph at times, and this was day one! Clearly not the bowler he was 3 years ago.
Disgraceful. Happened a few times though...where the bowlers do a decent job and are let down by the batsmen. England usually start badly in overseas tests...thought they were breaking that hoodoo this time.
Awful from England but they're often awful in the first innings of a series. Unless we somehow make 550-1 in the second innings again we're likely to go one down.
