So what do you all think about a 75 club? meaning you must be 75 or over! Then all the younger fans can ask us what it was like in the old day, and we can tell them, bloody great, great football, great teams ,great fans, great chairman JG. and great manager. In fact it was great all the time right back inthe old 3thd. Div (south) days. As I have said before the players played for the love of the game and rcived some money for doing it as well! About £10 per. week or so! Maybe some of the tarts who call them self`s footballers to day should take note?? Thats it then . I am off to town to have a nice glass of wine. Regards from us fans (3) I think down here in Lagos Portugal all the best chaps! James the one
Ah so, you're now a Portugeezer then James. Had a golfing holiday yonks ago near Lagos, lovely place...
Well, Northolt, I may getting older but not that old yet! Remember think young you will stay young! As I have said before , yes I am 75 last 8th.March lookaround 61/3 qnd think 30 or as young as the woman I feel!!! I know that is a old one but still so very true! And to superhoops, yes the golf is great here but the sad thing is I do not play. Used to play football here till I was 48 then gave it up got hard trying out run them young Portugese players! Snow I just sit and watch the world go by, look at the girls, drink good wine and champs; Can not think of any thing else to do, any ideas for me !! good night all! Keep the faith! do not give up , remember when they have gone we all will still be here! NOT them, BUT us!!!
Yeah James you successful old loafer you. You asked for ideas of what to do down in La-gosh... Give the girls a break and get to work! So far you've told us a bit (skimmed the surface) about the Rs in the forties and fifties - back in the days before QPR came to prominence in the late sixties. You said, '...bloody great, great football, great teams ,great fans, great chairman JG. and great manager. In fact it was great all the time right back in the old 3rd Div (south) days. As I have said before the players played for the love of the game and rcived some money for doing it as well! About £10 per week or so!' So you've whet the appetite, time to feed us. Tell us in your own inimitable style, about your memories of some of the games you watched, the teams we played against, the players and managers you liked and why. What were the attendances like back then? Did you get a chance to go to any home games when the club moved to White City Stadium in the early sixties. If so, how did we do in filling it? Not very well as I understand. Don't hold back. Lay it all on good and thick. Do it via a series of threads maybe... when you're in the mood. I know little or nothing about them days. What did they feel like to you? Also, why did you pick Rangers as your team? AND for me, Camberwell, Sooper, Tooting and other Saaf Londoners, what was the journey like from Tulse Hill Estate to Loftus Road? I, for one, am dying to know.
