With the accusation hanging over john terry i cant believe that Capello/FA has selected him!
Capello has also dropped Rio Ferdinand" on grounds of form"..Capello must have missed terrys poor performance against Arsenal when he was absolutely useless!
The cynic in me seems that capello hasnt named Rio in the squad because of the racist charge against his brother.

Rio's not in the squad because he's **** nowadays.

For a game like this I don't see the point in picking any players over 27/28. It's a good chance to throw the younger players in against a top side. We're not going to learn more about someone like Terry or Lampard after a game like this.

I think the fact that Man Utd have 2 better English CBs in Smalling and Jones and that as a result Ferguson has told Rio publically that he is third choice behind them to partner Vidic may have more to do with it....Rio has lost a yard of pace and given how slow Terry is playing them together seems suicidal. I would have dropped Terry on form alone regardless of the Anton thing.

Rio may have lost a yard but hes still a yard quicker than terry! I agree about trying younger players out but Capello and any previous manager always pick the likes of Lampard, gerrard etc..and as for Rio i recall plenty on here wanting him to play for us..so maybe hes not that s***

I know I'm going to get jumped all over for this...but Terry hasn't been found guilty of anything yet!! Perhaps he should have been left out because of poor form, but not for any other reason imo. I'd play Smalling and Jones at CB v Spain with Micah Richards at right back.

Quite right. Terry should only be dropped because his form has dipped. Unfortuantely for England, Capello cannot make that decision because it will be seen as a reaction to the current Racegate enquiry.

It is ironic that his outburst on the pitch may have actually saved his place in the England squad.

Terry should not be involved with the England squad until the Police and the FA have completed their investigation.

John Terry and Anton have done a parachute jump for charity however it has been revealed that Terry got scared and wouldn't jump... Anton threatened Terry that if he didn't jump he would shove a distress flare up his arse !
When questioned " did you jump?"
Terry replied only after the tip went in

Stop thinking clearly. This is the England team we're talking about here and there's no time nor space for rational thought permitted.

Capello's job is easy; find the national tabloids; cut out all the articles and the players with the largest column-inches (ooh, er, matron) gets in. At least, that's the only way that I can guess that players are being selected.

Accusations aside, Rio's **** and Terry isn't. He tripped over against Arsenal but aside from that had a pretty standard game, or did you purposely chose to avoid mentioning the goal he scored?

The one that hit his shin, deflected off Mertesacker and bobbled into the corner? He's better than Rio, of that there's no doubt, but he's in his 30s, hasn't been good enough for England for some time now and we need to be looking forward if we've got the faintest hope of doing anything in the next decade. I'd go to Euro 2012 and all the games prior to it with a young side, accept that it lacks experience and go to Brazil '14 and Euro 2016 with a squad of players still in their twenties with an international tournament or two under their belts.

Goals a goal, he was there, he beat a 6ft6 odd German international to the ball and scored a goal.

If I were England manager the two CB's would be Jagielka and Cahill!

Capello,Terry,Rio,Lampard,Cole,Gerrard and all the other over the hill tossers will all go to the Euro's injury permitting.Hopefully after we get knocked out in the 1/4 finals we won't ever see any of them in an England shirt again.Get in an English boss and start over, playing all the decent kids with a clear 4 year plan to build towards the World Cup and well beyond!!If Flabio can pull off a 4 year plan surely England can!
