The half time wake up call I expected but didn't want. Ah well at least there's a second half for us to redeem ourselves and score 3 goals to win. Hang on a minute I haven't had my morning coffee yet so perhaps that will put a more positive spin on my outlook.

    Preston now beating Hull...

Charlton losing, MK Dons losing. Huddersfield drawing at QPR

Bolton have had an awful season but I watched them beat Blackburn earlier and you would have thought it was Blackburn who were bottom of the league with 1 win in 23 league games. So Bolton have been epically awful so far (aside from today when I thought they were terrific), but at 17.00 tonight they will only be 4 points behind us.

What does that tell you ??

The worst statistic here is Andre Gray's 3 goals. On my recent cruise I met a man who claims to be well in at Selhurst Park , being an ex-youth player, and he told me that the negotiations weren't quite as reported by us. I am not quite sure what he meant by that comment but it was clear that he had some issues with the way in which we approached the player and said we had missed the boat badly in the negotiations. Today's score sheet from Burnley only highlights the possibility of what we missed.

Who is lurking down the back halls of Ashton Gate - is it the bogeyman or just the folks from the FFP police? I fear that we are headed for a major fall and won't be able to get back up again like Humpty Dumpty.

This season is summed up by the following

    Witless
    Clueless
    Impotent
    Heartless
    Meek

I genuinely thought we had a decent chance of surviving until recently, but the last 2-3 weeks have made me re-evaluate.

I now honestly think we'll be bottom 3 come May, and the biggest inquisition should be taking place in the all too silent halls of Ashton Gate right now, as to why a hugely successful squad who scored record points and goals last season, and won a trophy to boot were allowed to be so ill prepared to face life at this level and have allowed all of the momentum so gallantly gained to be totally extinguished without trace within the first half dozen games in the Championship.

    We've never recovered.

It's criminal, and if Lansdown wanted to sell up right now I'd be personally delighted, because this isn't good enough and I can't imagine us being any worse off with some crackpot foreign owner. We're going down anyway.

At this rate we'll be in a cavernous stadium in L1 playing Fleetwood in front of 9,000 again next season.

    Arseholes !!!!!!!!!

Not a clue amongst all of them and it makes me wonder what was actually behind the appointment of SC without any competition. I like SC for what he achieved last season and I wanted so much for him to continue his success back where we belong, but clearly there is something systemically wrong with an organisation that allows this lack of dedication to the man who got us where our leader wanted to be, and now I think the boardroom are insulting him, and us, with their words and attitudes.

    It's simple Mike

The owner and board wanted him to carry on the success on a shoestring budget while Mr Smug pontificated on how we'd be in the EPL in 5 years.

He's an arrogant twat who, as far as I can tell, has not backed his manager very much when it was so obvious after the first couple of games that we were always going to struggle in the Championship.

Do you think that Steve Coppell saw the writing on the wall and bailed out? SL comes up with all these statements about his belief that we will be in the Premiership and he is doing everything possible, other than supporting his managers, to get us there and yet we are essentially spinning our wheels at best and failing catastrophically at worst.

I see no hope with this man on board and until he decides to invest his money wisely with Bristol City or move his road show somewhere else we will continue down the same path to nowhere.

Sometimes you get the best light from a burning bridge. (Don Henley) Very true words.

    Or perhaps more appropriate:
