I would like to see us go back to the 5-3-2 as we looked vulnerable at the back, but will Ranieri stick with a winning side/formation?

    Schmeichel
    Benalouane Huth Morgan
    Albrighton Kante King Schlupp
    Mahrez
    Okazaki Vardy
I'd bring in Kante and Benalouane because this game will more than likely be a bit of a scrap.

    This looks good to me.

It is perhaps a little harsh on Drinkwater, who had a great game against Sunderland.

But we will need more steel in midfield for this, IMO.

West Ham have a lot more pace in the side than Sunderland so I would definitely go back to 3-5-2.

Not sure Benny is 100% fit yet according to Beaglehole so doubtful he will start.
Would be harsh on Drinkwater to lose his place, but horses for courses and all that.
I'd prefer to see 352 for this one.

Can see Raneiri sticking with 4-4-2 and dropping Vardy to the bench after everything that has happened.

Would you be relaxed about Ranieri tinkering? I know some take issue with his nickname "the tinker man" but that was because once he starts tinkering it goes horribly wrong. Think best chance of him doing a decent job is to keep it simple and stick to one system.

Which means he will now switch to 3-5-2 and hammer the spammers!

I heard that the whole tinkerman name apparently came about due to Cheslea players having minimum game clauses in their contracts. im not sure how much hes tinkered since hes left england.

    This.

He changed his team a lot, when he had a million players all demanding minutes, 10 years ago.

This does not mean he will be drastically changing our line-up every week now...

CR also gave himself the name Tinkerman in response to criticism - basically a **** you to the press to show how much he cares what they thought as he had a job to do and he did it by getting Chelsea to their best position in 50 odd years.

    From the tinkerman

The game against Monaco was the one I remember, as do most fans, that was a real screw up in terms of tactics/team setup but "The Tinkerman" doesn't have to be a dig, as if you're that tactically astute that you can change systems and change teams often, but still have success, then tinker away!

But he has good humour and I think he enjoys some of the banter so should be a good season with him in the league.

I read a quote he gave after that game which was rather funny.

“I can't change now. I'm like Frank Sinatra - I always do it my way. I told the players everything I did in the Monaco game was wrong. I changed things to win the match - but we lost and I was thinking "Oh f***, Claudio, why, why? Bad Tinkerman!" – It was 1-1 in the Champions League semi-final first leg when Monaco had a man sent off. Ranieri made two attacking substitutes, and Chelsea lost 3-1.

I would say keep the same team which played Sunderland, but I think the defence could do with a little tinkering, maybe back to a 5. Bring Wasilewski in if Benalouane isn't fit. I think Schlupp is wasted at left back, and would like him in more attacking positions. So either a 5, or bring Fuchs in and push Schlupp forwards.

Champions League place 6 pointer. I'm going for WHUFC 2-1 Leicester. See you there.

Good luck for the season (after tomorrow).

Put in a good performance and I won't be distraught if we get beaten, would be happy with a point here.

Lawro & Merson have us down for a win.
Interesting to see Ranieri's first away team selection.
