Another do or die game for us. 3 points will put us 5th at least until Saturday. Anything less would see the play offs fall away. There is no injuries in the side meaning Nigel will probably stick with the same side again. Here is what I would play

    Schmeichel

    De Laet
    Morgan
    Keane
    Konchesky

    Knockaert
    King
    James
    Dyer

    Wood
    Schlupp

Subs- Logan, Moore, Drinkwater, Marshall, Gallagher, Waghorn, Vardy

Definitely the same side as Schlupp has been excellent. Nugents performances had been a little flat so was given a "rest" on the bench which unfortunately for him coincided with our slight improvement to form

    But you include Vardy?

Come on, Nuge is our top scorer FFS.

Nuge has to make the bench, at the very least.

Better option then Kane. I think dropping Nugent for a week will give him the kick up the arse he needs to come back stronger

... but how many would we have scored if Schlupp or Wood had been in his place for those games? ... that is the real point - both Schlupp and Wood will have better averages when played as 'forwards' I'll bet? - personally I'd have him on the bench but not in the starting line-up..

We should be picking players on merit and not on reputation. Nugent doesnt deserve to be involved at this moment. Drop him for a week and then bring him back in for the Forest game. Knowing the type of player Nugent is he would then go and get us the winner at Forest. Its just what I would do, I think he needs a little bit of managing and this is the way I would do it. You may not do it that way and Nigel might not.

Kane, Waghorn and Vardy all need 'kicks up the arse'.

Honestly can't see what those three offer at the moment that would be more valuable than Nuge.

Say its 10 minutes to go and its 1-1 or something. Would you honestly rather Vardy come on rather than Nugent?

At this moment in time neither. Jeff Schlupp has gone from about 5th choice striker to first choice in matter of weeks. Says all you need to know about the others. Apart from last 2 games you can include Chris Wood with Nugent and Co

I'm with AKCJ on this one...
I'm not saying he should start, we should definitely stick with Wood and Schlupp.
Surely dropping him to the bench is "punishment" enough, you don't have to drop him completely to give him that kick up the arse. You're saying, "Look, at the moment, you're not in the starting line up. Go out there and show me you deserve a starting place against Forest".

As AKCJ already said... You would rather bring on Vardy in a tight game!?

Even off form, hes still a better option than Kane Waghorn and Vardy.

We've known for the vast majority of the season that Vardy/Waghorn/Futacs/(Kane more recently) are about as useful as a chocolate tea pot in terms of putting the ball in the net. At least with Nugent there is a chance he will put it away if a chance arises, ableit I agree he has not been at the races recently out there. I think putting him on the bench is more than sufficient to give him a kick up the arse and our best option to come off the bench if needed as he did against Bolton.
