This is what happens when you keeps the faith with a team of championship players. The adrenaline soon wears off and their shortcomings come to the fore. You're not a good enough team, but luckily for you some off the others look horrendous and could keep you up. Blockhead needs to go out and actually buy some premier league players in January.
His defending for the second goal on Saturday was pantomime, he just stood and watched a player run past him, you can't do **** like that at this level.
At this stage last season there was quite a few saying the same things about Sunderland, and especially Palace, the rest is history. It's been proved that it's pretty much pointless attempting to second guess who will fall through the trap door at this stage of the season, although Burnley look a decent bet, but who knows? The one thing that I think blockhead needs to realise is that in this division he's going to find it almost impossible to nick those golden 0-1 away wins consistently, your defence is almost certainly not good enough to withstand what opposition teams will throw at you if you attempt to stick to that strategy. As OLM has already stated I have no idea what De Laet was doing when Swansea scored their second, but it certainly wasn't defending, judging by his body language at that point I'd guess that he'd simply given up, and that's a dangerous sign. I did say when you got promoted that blockhead would be gone by Christmas and I stand by that, he's too one dimensional and your owners cannot afford to drop out of the PL, they know full well how hard it is to get there. I just don't think that NP has what it takes to keep a team like Leicester in the top flight but, as always, time will tell.
I think you guys a being a bit harsh on the team TBH. The same team that got you of to a fantastic start in this league and turned over Man Utd etc. Surely you didnt expect that level of performance and result every week did you? This is the prem and TBH you beating teams like Man Utd may have worked against you. People are actually taking more notice of you now and planning more carefully haow to deal with you. This is where Blockhead earns his crust and finds diffrent ways to play. Its god to have a system but you also need a plan B,C & D if its not working. Your next few results will tel you all you need to know. I wouldnt be so certain about any of the relegation spots just yet. We are obviously a decent shout with Burnley but some said the same aout Palce last season. I think you should jus continue to back a team who; lets be honest; have got you more points now than anyone belived you would have. long long way to go yet lads...and that gap is getting smaller.. for what its worth, i think with a couple of buys in Jan you will be fine. For us I'l expect to see Messi, Ronaldihnio and Kakka in Jan at Loftus Road !! Keep the faith lads its gonna be a bumpy ride and right now all i want is 17th place
You make good points Queens but about the having more points than expected, I think after recent matches it's almost not the case anymore. We obviously picked up more in the first 5 games than we thought (3 vs Man U and 1 against Arsenal definitely) but we'd have expected a win over Burnley and maybe a draw with Newcastle and perhaps one of Palace or Swansea which would have been four more points so we're about breaking even in that respect but it's the performances and results against those around us causing problems. I for one am fearing another defeat this saturday
For once I'm in agreement with you Queens, I to would settle for 17th right now. Good win for the your lot today and makes life more interesting for all of us in the bottom half.
Have visited both on numerous occasuions aswan - the caves are spectacular - wonderful drive back through the Brecon Beacons yesterday too ...
For a striker, the jump from the Championship to the Premiership can be a huge one, but I thought Ulloa's running off the ball was terrific. There was one problem though, he hardly received the ball in a dangerous position. He's one player I wouldn't mind having in the Swans squad
Spot on PGF - as I mentioned in my first post, the only telling cross we got in the box was the cross that Ulloa himself put in for Andy King / Cambiasso to nearly score - the poor bugger has been starved of service in our recent games ... Vardy is wasted wide left - should be Schlupp or Knockaert ... if we can get to the by line and pull the ball back to the pen spot area then you fancy Ulloa to get something on it ... haven't done that since the Man United game ...
