Dean Hammond came off injured with cramp against Chelsea so he should be available. Danny Drinkwater and Matty James will both miss out but Jamie Vardy does return. Nigel Pearson has already said while he takes this competition seriously he will make changes. While he can't make a lot as the squad is a bit thin at the minute. So here is what I would play Hamer De Laet Moore Wasilewski Schlupp Albrighton King Hammond Knockaert Wood Taylor-Fletcher Subs- Schmeichel, Morgan, Konchesky, Mahrez, Nugent, Vardy, Ulloa
Think Barmby and McCort may play in this one. Was it confirmed as cramp for Hammond cos there was speculation on Radio Leicester it may have been more serious. Cant see us risking Andy King.
To me it looked like Hammond received studs to the knee (could have been a booking). Doubt it was cramp. I agree, I hope we don't risk King. Maybe we'll have to play a makeshift diamond formation with Allbrighton and Mahrez wide, Knockaert behind the two strikers and someone (Wasa?) in front of the back four. Wouldn't be pretty, but may have to do.
-----------------Hamer---------------- Pearson----Wasilewski----Morgan----Schlupp -----------------King------------------ Albrighton---------------------Knockaert ------------Taylor-Fletcher--------- -----------Wood----Hopper---------
... I'd be happy with that ... just might give Blyth the nod over Hopper ... he has a little more experience from his loan spells
Wouldn´t bother me if we got K.O´ed. We don´t need mid week cup games unless we really do play just the fringe players, be good for them (& only them) to play in these games.
You could get spanked by Burton they are above Shrewsbury, played 5 in all, won 4 and drawn 1. Perfect game for richard dunne!
What type of squad do you think our ex-defender will put out for you tonight? Reserve players, sprinkling of first teamers needing more game time? We've supposedly sold over 900 tickets and plenty are buying on the gate tonight.
Yup - only expect one or two players that started our last game to play. Is going to be a close one tbh - can see you getting a result if you give it a go.
I don't agree with only 1 or 2 1st teamers like others have said, as we have a few 1st teamers coming back, they will need match fitness, so i think that we'll have Schmeichel if he wants to play imo, i don't see him being "rested" if he doesn't want to be. Morgan or Moore with Wasyl Schlupp (played against Chelsea as a winger but will be LB tonight imo) King through lack of midfielders Knockeart, Vardy and Albrighton may play for match fitness after injury, all 3 can be considered 1st teamers So im going with upto 7 1st teamers, but not for 90 minutes Schmeichel Pearson - Moore - Wasyl - Schlupp King Albrighton ---- GTF ---- Knockeart Vardy - Hopper
Is the formation I would choose but Hamer in - we no longer have a dismal backup GK so might as well give him a run out.
