Yep, that's the team I expect. More interesting will be the subs. I'm guessing we'll see Baird for Karagounis around 70 minutes, Emanuelson for Duff around the 85th and finally Rodallega/Petric for Dejagah in the 90th. The score is irrelevant to my sub predictions.
No clues on the line-up from Jol in his press conference today. One comment in particular was encouraging though -
Ruiz is also a big doubt for the game so I expect Rodallega to come in behind Berbatov if that's the case.
Yeah I read reports Bandit, that Bryan had hamstrings problems after his international stint (again!). However in his latest internal video interview, Jol says Bryan is just a bit tired and is still a possible. Although Enoh is definitely not being considered. Urby was the one he was talking up this week (well a little bit) so he might be Bryan's replacement if it come to that.
Think the strongest team possible for 3 points and a few goals past QPR will do. Don't think we are safe just yet. Kara knows from derby games and will definitely help... Come on you Whites.
Yeah, play Hugo from the start, he'll be um, focused for this one. Would be great to see a Fulham win so that yourselves and us can continue our long tradition of turgid draws and scrappy one nils into the 2014 season.
There has been a change of ref - we now have Mr Probert please log in to view this image He also reff'd our home game against Stoke !! Ughh !!
please log in to view this image Itâs looking less likely that Bryan will play. Jol said this morning, âHe played two games for Costa Rica. One game was in the snow and it was awful. They were two very different games; one was unbelievable snow, and the other was in 30 degree heat. He feels his hamstring a bit so maybe, hopefully not, we have to come up with a solution with a different forward line.â
We did well to hang in there... Silly mistakes and childish behaviour as Berba put it. At least we have 39 points now. Come on you Whites.
I was about to write, then saw this blog which covered it pretty well. http://fulhamsfinest.com/2013/04/01/fulham-3-2-qpr-3-points-at-home-but-never-do-that-again/ C O Y W !!!!!
It didn't look a red from where I was sitting, with a studs down challenge that won the ball. And the Karagounis penalty shout was pretty blatant too. But thankfully Lee Probert didn't cost us. That blog Gerascores linked is a pretty good summary. It was nice to see Frimpong play well, finally having a player that didn't get steamrollered by Mbia. Ruiz was a frustrating microcosm of his season - he looked great in the first half as we were going forward, but looked poor when the tide turned and we needed to defend. I think it's safe to say there won't be many who are disappointed we have no option on Urby after that performance!
Great game that had just about everything. We cruised through that 1st half but I did wonder if their first goal which came out of nothing just might cost us later on (Thankfully not) The forced substitution of Dejagah was a turning point and possibly some of the long International trips some of the lads have had. It was certainly a game of two halves but all credit to the team we hung on. A red and two yellows will not help our fair play standings - which might not be a bad thing. Credit also to QPR who at least gave it a good go second half. Not sure what is worse, losing 3-0 or coming back to to 3-2 and missing a pen. Don't think we'll be seeing them though for a while.
Indeed. Would add the hand ball from Boswinga and question why Clint Hill didn't get a second yellow for his foul on Kara (it can't be a co-incidence that he was taken off at half time). But phew! I now know why I don't like football (sometimes). Where did we go in the second half? Surely losing Dejagah didn't make all that difference - although (surprisingly and disappointingly) Urby was rubbish. Full marks to Frimpong when he came on. Talking of Marks, thank goodness for Schwarzer. The penalty save was good but the save from BZ was a belter. And thank goodness for Brede who also had a belter of a game. We were cruising in that first half and while losing the goal right on half time due to Kara's silly mistake gave them something to go for, in the second we fell back to the old habit of lying too deep. And backing off players. To be honest if they had more quality we might have had very red faces this morning. If I was 'Arry I'd be livid about their shooting and, worse, how they played in the final ten minutes. For us, Kara earned back some bonus points as did Berba and Frimpong in those ten mins. On the way to the game my son and I agreed that a win win was just fine even if it was 'ugly'. We got our wish.
Completely agree. As I said to my mates on the way home, Kara may have had a bad game but his experience really showed in the last 10 minutes. Still a poor game from him, but I was glad he was on the pitch at the end.
