Richie Wellens should be fit for the game after missing the last 2 games. Andy King played at Kettering last night as did Darius Vassell but with Wellens returning i dont think King will be on the bench tommorow. It will probably be the same starting line up on tuesday with possibly Wellens coming in for Bamba. After failing to pick up 3 points in the week tommorow is massive and a must win if we want play offs. We have to be beating teams like this if we want to get into the play offs. So i would be play

    Schmeichel

    Peltier
    Morgan
    St. Ledger
    Konchesky

    Marshall
    Drinkwater
    Bamba
    Dyer

    Nugent
    Beckford

Subs- Logan, Kennedy, Moore, Wellens, Schlupp,

    Schmeichel
    Peltier Morgan Bamba Koncheskey
    Marshall Wellens Drinkwater Dyer
    Nugent Beckford

St Ledger, Kennedy, Schlupp, Howard, King

I'm in the home end for this one <doh> I asked a friend who works for Posh to get me tickets and I think i'm sat in with the prawn sandwich brigade along with the likes of Mills, Danns and Gallagher and their families.
Bit of a shame really, I was looking forward to being in the terrace.

Although I did message a Posh forum and they told me I might be in the away end because we asked for extra tickets. So we'll wait and see. But i'll be sat, either way.

    Fitness

We needed a goal on tuesday and King is always good for a goal so if he was relatively fit then i think Nigel would of brought him on. Last night was his first game back from injury and he only played an hour. Weather that was because of fitness or bearing in mind we have a game on saturday who knows.

I think he was only on the bench incase something happened to Drinkwater

to be on the bench last week and get a run out would hint he may be fit- where only games will get him match fit. Its impossible to know just how fit though. However in that role he ca maybe afford to not be 100% fit- just offload it or shoot really!!

We shouldnt rush King back. He has been crap for a very long time and has looked exhausted. Had Wellens not got injured and Danns not been stupid i dont think we would of been seeing King again this season. We know he can be a very good player for us and score alot of games. He is too valuable to rush back

it all depends how fit he is. I feel he was rushed to the bench due to injuries and the fact he didnt come on said a lot, but if he is fit then play him!

Thats what i mean. King is always good for a goal and we needed a goal desperately and Nigel didnt bring King on.
Surely 10-15 mins at the end wouldnt of done any harm but Nigel didnt think he was ready

but if you are never going to bring him on... why put him on the bench? Only the club know.

But on another note, if his injury is better, only game time will get him better. 20 minutes at the end might be perfect. Him and marshall from distence.... a constant threat there.

I think he was there for emergency nothing else or maybe to make the numbers up because with Nigel cutting the squad, Mills out of favour and Gallagher, Waghorn and Vassell with injuries we are struggling to name a bench

The main change I want to see is tactically rather than personally. I can see why Nigel went for the 4-2-3-1 against Hull to match them up in the middle but against Forest, Beckford was horribly isolated and it suits him to play with another striker. Add to that, Nuge looked lost out wide and 4-4-2 should return for this.

    Schmeichel

    Peltier
    Morgan
    St Ledger
    Konchesky

    Dyer
    Drinkwater
    Bamba
    Marshall

    Beckford
    Nugent

    Kennedy; Wellens; King; Schlupp; Howard

A small thing would be playing the wingers on the 'opposite' sides because Dyer looks a threat running at defenders with pace cutting inside and it allows Marshall to drift around the pitch more and pick the ball up in more dangerous areas. Could also let him shoot more.

dyer is very predictable on the right in a 4-4-2 and if always shown wide very very easy to defend against as he will always cut in.

is bamba consistent enough to play in a 4-4-2. Not saying he isnt, but i am not sure.

Before everygame we need to see which of the opposition full backs is the slowest and put Lloyd on their wing

^ pretty much yes! Always been a fan of playing to your strengths not the oppositions weaknesses, but a slow fullback dyer can destroy, on either wing.

Part of maximising your strength is exploiting an weakness the opposition have against it.

We did it against Hull. Dawson couldnt deal with Dyer's pace. But if we put Lloyd down his normal side he would of been against Rosenior who wouldnt have been caught out by Dyer's pace as much

Yeah i agree although Pearson can still swap the wingers whenever he likes gives us a bit more flexbility in an attacking sense but doesn't disrupt the defensive unit too much. Just have to be careful we dont get caught out when switching but it general its a good quick tactical change without having to use a substitute.

I think bamba even if wellens is back Peterborough will attack us at home so he will stop their attacks better then wellens would

I'd also argue that Dyer is very predictable on the left. But whilst everyone knows what he's going to do, when he's on song, it's very hard to stop.

And on the second point, I think that might be one of the reasons Pearson stuck with th three in midfield for as long as he did against Forest.
