As ever in all these start-up training friendlies you'd expect most of the squad to get some game time. However, ours is currently so small - 14 outfielders plus the 4 youngsters drafted in - you'd expect all the players to see some of the game. Who the Gaffer selects at the back is probably the most intriguing area - he's currently got 3 x RBs and 3 x CHs (giving Denis Odoi the benefit of the doubt, although he's strictly an RB as well). So, will Jokanovic 'experiment' and play 3 at the back? Distinctly possible but doubt if he will tactically. Whatever, Jokanovic has a tendency to play the fringe/youngsters first half and the more senior guys second. 1st Half : .....................Button...... ..Fossey....Djalo...Ream...Odoi.. .......................Cisse.... ....de la Torre............Johansen... ......Ayite...... ..Fonte.....Kebano.. 2nd Half : .........................Bettinelli... ...Christie....Odoi......Djalo........Sessegnon (S) .......................McDonald... .......Francois....Cairney Sessegnon (R).. ....................Fonte.. Fulham 4 Crawley 2 Mattias Kait getting a first half equaliser before Floyd Ayité, Marcelo Djalo and Neeskens Kebano scored the clinchers in the second half. The team lined up mostly with U23s - which comes as a surprise since they had a game at Southend. A bit more of the main squad in the second which no doubt underlines the score. 1st Half .....................Rodák.. ..Christie..Odoi..Jenz..Sessegnon (R).. ....de la Torre..O'Riley..Johansen.. ...Kait..........Kamara......Thorsteinsson.. 2nd Half ............T Ashby-Hammond.. ..Fossey..Djalo..Ream..Sessegnon (S).. ....................Cisse... ......Francois........Cairney.. ....Ayite......Fonte.....Kebano.. Here's a link to the match story from our Club reporter: http://www.fulhamfc.com/first-team/2018_2019/friendly/crawley-town Edit: Having just posted the U23 team v Southend, a couple of thoughts; a) it would seem that the Gaffer is easing a number of first teamers into games and b) he has clearly 'ear marked' which of the younger players have the brightest future.
