Loving the look of elation on Sean Kavanagh's face in that image. He played well too, in front of Martin O'Neill. We're not blessed in the left back department in the national team so maybe there's a chance for the lad if he keeps getting regular football.

I think most fans were crying out for Pat Roberts or George Williams to come on around the 70 minute mark to hit them on the counter but Woodrow and Zverotic did well when they came on. Dickson Etuhu was at the Cottage once again. Could he still do a job for us?

Can anyone who watched the game on Sky tell me why Hugo's goal in the 2nd half was disallowed ?

Good team performance all round, although we still gave the ball away in midfield too much and brought more pressure on the back four then needed.
Thought McCormack was outstanding and was everywhere creating. Ruiz passing was good 1st half, second half he went off the boil a bit.
Christensen had his best game yet. And Burn Bodurov is a blossoming partnership. Left side Stafylidis can be a bit suspect. Kavanagh was OK.
Parker was his usual action man style.

Good progress but far from perfect.

Hoogland had a goal disallowed for offside. Don't recall Hugo having one.

The Burn Bodurov partnership reminds me a lot of the Hangeland Hughes partnership. One tall commanding centre back and a smaller, faster, hard working centre back. They complement each other very well.

As long as he doesn't moan if he's not starting every game then I think he can. I worry about Parker's ability to get through the season without injury, and once you take him out our only other experienced central midfielder is, erm, Forheringham. . . Dickson's always a good option when we're trying to see out a game.

Just seen the highlights, and yeah it was Hoogland, but from where I was sitting Hugo was blocking my view that Hoogland had got to it, just looked like Hugo to me, and I couldn't see why Hugo had been given offside. <doh>

We needed to get some form back at home games. The only worry is that teams thought they could get points at the Cottage so came and played more open, now they might get more defensive, and we have had problems against teams who don't play an open game and hit us on the break.

Worth a post in their own right - each goal had a unique bit of quality:

"Please sign Kit, super super Kit,
I just don't think you understands,
If you don't sign Kit, super super Kit,
You're gonna have a riot on your hands."

    Or something very like that.
