Here is Garth Crooks team of the season. I dont tend to agree with this guy, and dont this time either. But what do you all think? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18050229 Ashley Cole seems random to me (though after reading his reason I say 'fair enough'), and I am not sure on a few others either. I'd pick: -------------------Hart-------------------- --Walker-----Skrtel----Kompany----Baines-- -Valenica----Parker-----Toure-------Silva--- -----------Dempsey----Van Persie----------
I like Dempsey but would not select him over Aguero, Rooney, Suarez for this team.....well, maybe Rooney ;-)
Has to be this team for me: ----------Hart------------ Skrtel--Kompany--Coloccini ------Toure--Scholes----- --Dempsey--Silva--Aguero-- ----Van Persie--Rooney---- Too many attacking players have performed well this season and even the top teams have had nightmare defensive days so only three defenders make my team. Can't think of a better trio than these for consistancy throughout the year. Walker is **** and overrated just because he's English. He's worse than Richards (it's criminal how little he's played) by a mile and worse attacking than Johnson whilst only slightly better defensively. How he won young player of the season is beyond me. Cole is only there out of default. He's good, still the best LB in the league (lack of alternatives really) but not really outstanding anymore. Baines ran him close this year and Enrique would have done if he continued his first half season form. United's season was turned around by Scholes coming in, and he's a big part of their challenge for the title so he has to be in. Toure likewise was the big reason City performed well (along with Kompany) whilst holding their nerve. Dempsey or Valencia was the toss up for me, I went with Dempsey since he was involved in more team goals than Valencia, played more often and was a bigger influence for their team. Silva picks himself. Aguero, Rooney and Van Persie all scored fantastic goals, lots of them and single-handedly won games (or titles).
