    Ha, yeah that's unlikely.

Much as I'd love City to crash and burn it's Liverpool, and arsenal, who are the most vulnerable.

    De Gea
    Rafael New Cb* Evans/Jones/Smalling** Shaw
    Strootman/Pogba Fabregas
    Januzaj Mata Rooney
    RVP

    *(Hummels would be best option)
**Whoever performs the best during the offseason and whoever forms the best partnership with the new CB.

I think Kagawa could also be in contention for the 3 behind the striker, he seems have a lot of chemistry with Mata.

So you don't think Liverpool will strengthen this window? With finishing 2nd and staright into the CL group stages, you honestly think players wouldn't fancy playing alongside the likes of Suarez, Gerrard and Sturridge?

We'll strengthen the areas we need to and no doubt whatsoever we're be challenging again next season.

I can see a lot of players avoiding Utd, without any kind of european football next season and a squad that is in serious need of an overhaul - you'll need to gamble on the lesser known players and hope they come good <ok>

I'm losing count on the number of players that have already said they won't be joining Utd in the summer - paper talk and gossip I know, but realistically the big players want to play in the big games. The type of games Utd can't offer right now ;)

Money talks, see Routemaster and ££££ for that.

Also UTD have not put any offers on such players, its all paper talk.

And ive lost count of the many times liverpool are supposed to have come good only for it to amount to nothing. 2001, 2005, 2009.

If it came down to a choice for most players between united and liverpool its going to be united. Champions league or not. Players will be cautious of this being anotger false dawn for liverpool while most expect us to go straight back into the champions league.

Now if the clubs are in a similar position down the line opinions will change. Making a decision based on one season isnt a good idea and most players, plus their agents know that.

    I think that's what you're hoping Dave.

United are still by far the biggest club in English football and one year out of the CL is not going to change that <ok>

United might well be the biggest name in English football, but they are far from certain to get back in the top 4 and the whole of Europe knows that, you were in fact the laughing stock of Europe last season. There is no certainty whatsoever that you'll get top 4 this season, so going back on history is poitless when the season that counts is next season. If you want a lesson in history I'm happy to oblige Jeff <whistle>

We're the 2nd biggest clug in English football - but now have the pulling power to get big players that want to play in big games. All you can currently offer is domestic. Your best bet is look for diamonds in the ruff and hope they come good.

So this season you have Chelsea/City/Liverpool with Pulling power (add Arsenal if you will?) and Man Utd just becasuse of the name. City ans Chelsea lead the pack due to money, but Liverpool will be a very attractive proposition as the way we play now.

It begs the question have all these players come out and said NO to Utd or is it paper talk.

The transfer window will be interesting, but a tough one for you I'd imagine. Players (the greedy one's) would pick City and Chelsea well before choosing Utd. With Liverpool and Arsenal in the CL brings pulling power, you know it, I know it, and everyone know's it.

Go scouting these cheapo's and hopefully you'll strikke gold <ok>

Out of CL and Europa - then yes of course they would. Not as much as Utd as all three are miles ahead in quality than Utd have been for some time now.

I too have an inkling that Liverpool will fail to build on this season and will drop out of the top 4.
Im basing it on reason in my head, but cannot decide whether its more desire than reason.
But when I think about it, I cannot see it happening.
I think Liverpool will strenghten, but I dont think they will recruit what is needed to make them a real force.
This was an unstable season, and City triumphed because they had the most stable squad, thats the end of it.
Chelsea were all over the place in the first half of the season, Matic sorted that but then we had trouble opening teams up.
United were a shambles, and Arsenal bottled it as usual.

I would expect Chelsea to remedy their striker situation, United and Arsenal both to improve and City to still be up there, this means one teams gotta go.....and that team will be Liverpool imo.

It's funny how Liverpool fans think that by finishing second having not won a league title for twenty four years and with a manager most of Europe don't know making his champions league debut suddenly everyone wants to play for them.

Did everyone want to play for Spurs the year they qualified?

    No, did they ****.

But surely you've realised we're a laughing stock all over Europe and nobody wants to play for us now ?

Everyone will want to sign for Liverpool and Arsenal because they have got big games next season <ok>

I think there is a fair amount of tongue in cheek in Skys response, or at least I hope there is.
