After an abysmal season, there is no doubt we need new players. Here's my team for next year: Reina Johnson Agger Coloccini Enrique Lucas Song Hoillet Gerrard Lavezzi Suarez thoughts?
I don't think Song would leave Arsenal (Champions League) to come to us. Also if he were to leave Napoli, Lavezzi would be able to go to almost any European team he wanted to.
Coloccini-Newcastle aren't in the CL, so there's no reason for him not to want to join the biggest club in England Song-Fed up with not winning trophies at Arsenal, might want to join a club on the rise Hoilett-Blackburn relegated, surely and easy signing Lavezzi-Don't think that Napoli got into CL, plus, He'll want to join one of the biggest clubs in the world. Would be expensive, but we should be able to afford it
Welcome to the site Luis! Colocini would be nice - not sure he would go and how old is he? Riggobert Song stopped playing ages ago, not syre Lavezzi would come. Who knows! Hopes for a few decent signings.
I'd prefer Skrtel > Colo Elm > Song (Lucas is defensive enough, we need someone with more flair/creativity) Hoilet is a sound idea and free Levezzi wouldn't come unfortunately, unless Napoli lose Cavani and Hamsik meaning he feels they're declining. Ramirez would be cheaper and just as effective imo. I'd also start Suarez > Gerrard and use Carroll upfront
Because Skrtel is better than Colo, we can buy better and cheaper than Song and Levezzi is happy at Napoli...right? That's my reasoning...
Mine was Song would not want to leave a club that is based in London, where he's one of the key players on huge wages and in the CL every year. Lavezzi would be too expensive and better clubs than us would be after him like AC Milan who could pay him more and offer him a better chance of winning trophies. And with Colo its because like you said Skrtel is better than him and I cannot see us paying as much as Newcastle would want for a player who's just signed a new contract and because of his age.
