Will do a match thread when Im back from work but what are peoples initial thoughts on a line up for Weds. We could struggle in midfield without Jack and Morgan!

Hope at least one of them is. If not Reed may get a first start. Big ask though.

So this is basically a towel thrown across a deckchair by a German holidaymaker.

Depends how poorly Cork is, but my guess is that he is possibly more likely to be fit than Morgan with a muscle injury. I don't think any chances will be taken with such important games coming up.

The most important thing is restoration of the team spirit...they thought they were invincible...that feeling has to be engendered again. I'm desperate for Pelle to score...not the time for him to hit a dry spell.

More worried about Tadic than Pelle. He's looked well off the pace in the last two games. Hope he's not allergic to live TV.

Arsenal are facing a crisis at left-back with both Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs major injury doubts for Wednesday’s crucial clash with Southampton, according to the Mirror. With Laurent Koscielny restored in the middle of defence, Monreal started at left-back during Saturday’s 1-0 win at West Brom but was forced off after jarring his knee early on in the first half.

The Spaniard was replaced by regular first choice left-back Gibbs but the England international also picked up an injury after suffering a hip complaint mid-way through the second half. With no recognised defenders on the bench, Gibbs was forced to carry on but was uncomfortable for the rest of the game.Arsene Wenger said after the game on Saturday that he didn’t know how bad either injury was but the Mirror are reporting today that both defenders are major doubts to face Southampton at the Emirates on Wednesday night.Monreal and Gibbs are due to be further assessed by Arsenal’s medical staff at London Colney today but as it stands they are unlikely to play any part against the Saints which would leave Wenger with a huge selection problem at left-back.Mathieu Flamini would usually slot in and cover in defence but with Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere both out injured, the Frenchman is needed in midfield, so young right-back Hector Bellerin may be forced to play out-of-position at left-back

I saw on an Arsenal forum that they think Flamini might play lb <yikes>

Could go in our favour massively. For us, Long for Mane n hope Cork is fit.

They are short in midfield if they play Flamini at left back. Eiother way agree could be good for us.

I don't want to merge this with the match thread 'cos it will be all out of order, so please post your thoughts on the match thread now.

Cork was only out with illness. He will be available for Wednesday.

Forster
Clyne Fonte Alderweireld Bertrand
Davis Wanyama Cork
Long Pelle Tadic

Tadic has to play on the left. Do not play him on the right. Wouldn't mind seeing the same team with Mane instead of Tadic. Tadic was beyond woeful against City. If he is poor in the first half we need to get him off for Mane after 45minutes.

The other option is drop Tadic. Put Davis on the wing and play Reed in the midfield three. This wouldn't be a bad option. We see Chelsea do this with Ramires and City do it with Milner. I'm undecided as to whether Mane or Long would be the better option on the other wing if we set up like this.

Targett at left back with Bertrand on the left of midfield is another option, but I don't like it. It's too defensive for me and becomes 4-5-1 with Pelle getting too isolated, rather than 4-3-3.

Mane destroyed Arsenal in the cup. I'd keep Long on the bench again.

This is a must win for us. Too many glory hunters at Uni that will rub it in if we don't, despite having next to no genuine ties with Arsenal.

Since Tadic started playing on the right he has not played well so Mane or Long on the right
