    1) Know what bait the fish will nibble on. Some waters may have been over-fished with certain bait so best try new concoctions.

    2) Some of the really stupid fish will nibble on the same bait over and over again - especially in the most Northern and Western British rivers.

    3) Always throw back the tiddlers no matter how many times you catch them.

    4) Some fish can only be caught by trawling as they are liquid bottom feeders.

    5) Do not eat the big Green fish as they are usually rotten.
