Don't want to babble on so I will make it short and sweet, should the club be seriously looking at young english players for the future for the minimum of 8 that needs to be included in the clubs 25man squad? For me we have Connor Wickham who I would send out on loan and also Colback in the squad As for players we should be monitoring throughout a season... Joe Bennet (Middlesborough) Nathaniel Clyne (Crystal Palace) Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) Would be three fantastic young squad players for us IMO (Sorry I'm pure bored ha, btw how well is Pirlo playing against Croatia)
Zaha is a good player but imo is a prima donna. Hate diving b*stards and he is one. Clyne good player - Yes Bennet dont know enough about him. MON always did favour English guys so could and would be a good shout.
btw just so you can broaden your search, its not just English players, its "home Grown" Players. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/clubs/profile.squads.html/sunderland That lists our Home Grown Players from last year.
No, most of the one's we have already are ****e. We need experienced quality players and we need them now, not some £8m kid with potential, hat's if he actually has any.
There was this Milwall guy we were apparently after.... not too sure his name. I would love some young English blood, and I hope MON does buy a few.
Its a double edged sword. If you can bring a good young English player through your laughing i.e 20m for Henderson but you can also be on the wrong end ie 8m for Wickham who wouldn't have cost a tenth of that if he wasn't English. Id rather we signed proven quality regardless of Nationality. Everyone knows its much better value as is buying from abroad. Newcastle paid the same for Cabaye and Cisse as we did for Gardner and Wickham
