I keep hearing from various sources that VT has thrown anything from £135m to £140m of his hard earned dosh at our beloved club. All last season we were informed that there was a pot of gold - £90m- waiting for us on our arrival at the top table. I've also read on these boards that the Malaysian government has given VT £15m to promote Malaysia to 'higher end' tourists from the UK. On top of this we have taken £7m season tickets £1m merchandising £1m Advertising £1m corporate events £1m tv rights Malaysia tv (premier league may hold the cash for this though) and on top of this we have match day sales - away fans, PPPP-programs, pints, pies and friggin pasties Please feel free to tell me I've got all this totally wrong and edit any of the numbers above of which some are wild guesses and hearsay. I also understand that wages - tax - policing the matches- REBRANDING - etc etc comes in to the equation but can someone please tell me in all honesty that VT has spent the amount we keep hearing = £140,000,000 many thanks in advance for your help Bewildered in Llanelli
I agree with the £xm for merchandising, but not sure about the £xm for advertising. But there was incurred debts that were pretty steep, the budget Malky had is said to be somewhere in the 62 million for the last 2 seasons. It's not something I bother myself with to be honest, but it has been on numerous posts on different boards, but who knows for sure(somebody on here i'm guessing
Ok , I'll change all the X's to 1's just for argument sake , but then it still a lot of cash floating around
tbh turk seems fans of other teams are more qualified 2 give us the facts here. I take no notice of the money side of things butty so I cant help>>>>>>>all I hope is he is spending his own money and not putting it on our clubs head like sam the fking scam did...............how the football fraud squad don't stop that kind of owner is beyond me...........have we got another sam, we may do we may not...I`d say toss a coin and hope for some luck.
The quoted value (£90M +/-) for getting to the Prem is based upon a number of things over the the years and you don't get all that up front. Clubs get the Prem dosh in stages through the season, and the final lump for that season depends upon where you finish in the table - points mean prizes. Until then, clubs fund themselves according to their means. Apart from the inherited debt, he's also paid off Langston (Hamman), and the PMG loan. Also bought the personal investments of Paul Guy, Borley and others, and as far as I know, paid off Ranson's PFF "player mortgage" loan. God knows how much was involved in total for that lot, but probabaly well in excess of £40M. If you then consider his alleged £50M on players this season, we're getting somewhere close to the mark. The figures we all hear about seem to vary wildly - all we know is for all his apparent football "lunacy", he isn't a financial lunatic. That, and the fact that he has the personal money to make the difference, is probably his one saving grace.
I'm actually happy that we have got investment because without it we would be struggling at the lower end of the championship. I'm also a bit of a VT supporter, I think he will immerse himself more in the goings on at the club now, all I hope is that 'he' takes the losses not another loan shark. I'm also praying that he doesn't employ a 'Yes man' manager like Malky could never be
I was thinking much the sa.e as Sparks. Also don't forget the commitment to extending the ground and the new training ground with money already spent.
I keep hearing rumours that this £140m wasn't actually paid off or into the club, but loaned to the club (kinda the way Hammam and the Lansgstone bull****). Has he bailed the club out or has the debt just been transferred to him???
There is also the matter of when TG took over the outstanding tax bills plus the years in the championship when the club were losing £1 million a month and the £20,000 a week tan paid to help fund the loan of Bellamy. Look at how much income you had over the last 6 years and people will wonder how you spent it all. Tan owes the money to himself however much he spends. Anyone thinking buying our club was a quick way to make money could have done so. jck
Much seems tk have gone on sorting out longer term debts and taking people out of the equation. Alos assets in the form of the trainin ground.....butthe key is that he has replaced sucured debt with unsecured debt. If this lot hits the ****ter then Tan will lose the bulk of his investement......whats a stadium worht and a atraining ground.....something less than 149mill iguess.
I would like to know just how much of his unsecured loans has been capitalised into shares. Not rumour or guess work but fact.
Don't know that any Cardiff posters know the answer to that, but I'm sure a few jacks will be along shortly to inform us.
I am afraid whatever he spends he will owe himself not a great position to be in owing yourself money. Tan wants to spend another £25 million in this transfer window and I am right behind him. Why stop at £25 hell its not my money lets go over budget again. jck
This guy is now third favourite at 14/1 though Datuk K Rajagopal http://www.thestar.com.my/Sport/Football/2013/12/02/Coach-Rajagopal-I-have-no-regrets.aspx/ This could be dodgy
We don't need to and if we do then I'm sure the board will spend wisely . I'm sure you'll have realised by now that spending money doesn't necessarily bring success , QPR ring a bell , I'm sure your club owner is far too intelligent to let that happen .
