Even before the exit of Redknapp was confirmed by Tottenham in the early hours of Thursday morning, talkSPORT reporter Ian Abrahams claimed a possible deal had already been struck for Everton boss David Moyes to replace the 65-year-old at White Hart Lane. "It is my understanding Spurs maay [sic] have already met with David Moyes today and that Moyes compensation has been agreed with Everton FC," Abrahams (aka The Moose) tweeted. However, the speculation was quickly denied by Everton director of communications Paul Tyrrell, who responded: "This is an absolute lie Ian. I expected better from you. If you repeat it, you can expect legal action from EFC." Abrahams took back his comments 45 minutes later and apologised to the Toffees chief.
Sounds like this two-bit journalist read the Spurs board and created a story they woulld want to hear.
