Well done to the 200 if thats what the figure was. Cant understand 10000 didnt protest. Are the bulk of our fans sheep or plain brain dead?

I was listening to the radio feed on ustream and watching the comments in the chat box. I was amazed at how many fans were complaining about the bates out chant saying it is not supporting the team.

there was a LOT of bates out chanting at the game. I was in the Kop near the back. When it started in the south stand, even when we were winning, it all picked up very quickly and very loudly in the kop.

Of course it was the Bates out chants that caused us to lose. How about the sight of 20,000 empty seats, caused by the years of player sales at the club. Not one player on the pitch last night worth paying ten quid to see. My daughters keep asking when we are flying over again to Leeds. I tell them when Bates is gone and there is a reasonable chance of seeing a football match rather than the current waste of money

I agree with you, just pointing out there are still a few around who do not see it the same way <ok>

people believe supporting the team above all else, regardless of cost and regardless of how much bates wants us to shut up and do exactly that so he can get on with his schemes, is some act of the highest nobility. it's not.

I know. There are different levels of fans. The ones that are passionate about everything Leeds and the ones that just want to watch the footie and seemingly can switch off in between matches. Personally, I can't go a couple of hours without feeling pissed off at the current setup. Maybe that just makes me a saddo

It's the difference between supporting the team (or more accurately the results) or the CLUB. There's usually a lot more passion from those who want to see the club doing the right thing across the whole business, and there's nothing wrong with that. Of course the Bates Out chanting isn't great for team on the pitch, but as Eire pointed out, neither are the 20K empty seats.

The people who are chanting Bates Out shouldn't be accused of not supporting the team. They're supporting so much more, the long term future and progress of our great club. It just sucks that for now that might be to the detriment of the atmosphere at ER and confidence of the team.

So proud to see there's still a good core of Leeds fans who understand the difference between a TEAM (bunch of short-term players who largely don't give a ****) and a CLUB (the thing we support until our dying day).

The ******s who just harp on about getting behind the team all the time should do their own thing, but not criticize those with more passion and a further outlook than themselves. That's their own inadequacy, and they don't have to try project their plastic self-hatred onto the rest of us.

To those who criticized the protest last night, I ask: what did you do? I answer: nothing. The atmosphere outside the South Stand and away section was among Elland Road's worst in its history. Getting behind the team were they? Yeah ****ing right.

But there's an exclusivity clause and due diligence is already over, so they've already uncovered all the businesses.

They dont care. they just want to follow the team. it is you that is sad enough to be in the very vocal minority. Just being more vocal isnt going to change that.

There are probably as many wanting to thank Bates for saving the club as are in LUST. Whereas most like me are past caring and just want to watch footie without all the intrigue of boardromm comings and goings.

Ridsdale ****ed the club and left us in the position we have ended up in now. But I dont remember your hero the self publicist lettuce dodger being so outspoken when we were living the dream on invisible cash.

He's insulting Gary Cooper again. Chipvan has a really weird, probably Freudian problem with a bloke who appears to be doing more good than him in the world.

"Appears to be" are the appropriate words. The reality is something different.
