I can imagine Andrew Wilson phoning up Baz and saying we need access to your accounts as we have someone lined up to takeover the club from you. Right says Baz, can I fax it through as it is all on a single piece of A4. There must be more than that surely says Wilson. I don't do accounts says Baz, if you look at the records you will find that I don't file accounts for my companies.

Can we have copies of the bank statements then? Which account do you want to look at, the football club, the players transfer account, the Red Lion account. There are others of course, but they are personal. I suppose you would wish to see what is in the petty cash tin. Last time I looked there was a packet of rich tea biscuits in there which I paid for from my own resources and would not want them added to the assets.

It is fairly clear from the above that the sticking point is the biscuits and who can claim ownership. ;)

In this article is a paragraph which might keep SD in a job.

"At Granada, the Pozzos quickly hired their own man behind the scenes to run operations and we believe former West Ham United duo Scott Duxbury and Gianluca Nani will be joining Watford in roles similar to a chief executive and technical director."

Strange how, in all the research that's been done on the Pozzos on these boards. it appears that no-one has mentioned their involvement in match fixing.

Am I the only one with reservations over this?

Perhaps that could apply equally to Troy Deeney? :)

    Mostly still are. :(

Has to be better than Baz only reason I can think of is that WFC were in a worse state than we thought ,hence AA`s involvement.

Let's hope the new owners don't like rugby.

Rookery Mike believes that finances were in a right mess and we were getting close to another disaster. <yikes>

I don't think that some behind the scenes men would necessarily make Dyche leave. I don't entirely know what they will be doing, presumably dealing with transfers and the running of the club. With the whole Udinese network it does seem like a good idea to have someone here who can correspond. Watford's resources are limited so it could be a great addition to the team.

As long as Dyche gets to train the players and have most of the say about who plays, then I think it can work. If Udinese give us some talented players then I can't see Dyche moaning about it. It could only get awkward if players who aren't performing well are being forced into the team.... hopefully it doesn't end up like that.

That seems like a good starting point. Dyche clearly is pretty good at his stuff......

What are you guys thinking about the Dyche out Zola in rumour?

Be a shame to get rid of the man who's gritty in both voicebox and playing style.

I for one would be disappointed to see Dyche leave. He had the best season for years and if it aint broke dont fix it. His plan is in place and the players are playing his way, to change all that could be disastrous for the club.

I am not sure if he is the manager for the aspirations we may now be having...... however in no rush to change things.... of course the new owners amy want their own team in... and we would have to live with that.

Considering the plight the club was rumoured to be in, I would suspect that the Pozzos have "invested" significant funds to purchase the club. They will have a business plan for the club (yes, football clubs at our level are businesses despite what many of us would like to think) and will not be looking to sustain long term losses.

So, in their position, would anyone seriously not want their own team in place both financially and from a football perspective? It's all very well us wanting SD to continue (and for Watford "ethos" reasons, I do want him to be given a chance), realistically would any of us entrust a rookie manager with the kind of funds likely to be needed to develop the club along the lines that the Pozzos are intimating?

    We shall see.........

There are very strong rumours said to be coming from inside the club that it could have found itself in administration by now if the bondholders had not acted. The bonds always seemed to be very restrictive on what could or could not be done before they were repaid and it seems as if we should be grateful that they were set up in that way.

I agree.. Dyche is not proven and whilst he worked wonders last season i am not sure he is the one for this next stage if it does unfold like that. I see Zola is rumoured to be going elsewhere..... so we will have to see.
The silence from SD and around his position suggests that things are not sorted.... on the other hand we need a manager in place pdq to get the side together for the next season...

I wonder if the trigger for all this was Bassini trying to take his 3.5 million working capital back out it was a one year loan at zero interest repayable on the anniversary. Bondholders were preferential creditors and would have stopped this going back out I would have thought, maybe he took it out anyway from the transfer pot, who knows??
