Tadanari Lee

Somebody told me this morning that Tadanari Lee has been given the number 19 shirt. I have not seen it on here so sorry if it has been posted on here already. Wikipedia says he has so may be true but I have not seen it anywhere else.

Radio Solent have just announced he has been invited to start training again with the first team.

 

Useful back up for me.

 

I hope he surprises me, but I don't think he's got what we need for Premier league.

 

I thought he looked like he had something in the Championsip and am quite satisfied with his return.

 

I'd imagine he's taking over the Mayuka role. Quick guy who can play in cups and may make a couple of impact sub appearances.

 

I'm happy about this. I always liked him when he played in the NPC shame he didn't get a proper run. He had pace and could pick a shot.

 

Personally all of them that have been deemed not good enough have been treated pretty shabby, I think they should all be training with the first team as long as they don't have a negative effect on morale, cos if Lambert and osvaldo got I injured at the same time that would open the door for sharp/lee

 

Question is surely "is he better than Mayuka?"

Because if he isn't, it's a bit of a strange call.

 

Unless they had no option to move him anywhere on loan and they did for Mayuka. If this is so, I can understand why they did. Neither were likely to play a big part but they had a chance to move one on and took it.

 

Is it? It's not a particularly vital role, so a slight downgrade in talent for one season is fine if it helps Mayuka get first team football and theoretically improve.

 

Was about to say this. Mayuka needs regular first team football if he is to improve.

 

Probably for marketing reasons more than football ones.

 

He looked good in the championship and always seemed to have something about him, i think if he had not of gotten injured he would have played a decent amount last year. I am happy to have him as emergency backup

 

Do you think he has been loaned to gain experience before coming back and into the 1st team? I would like to think so but we haven't really seen that happen before.

 

I think that's the plan.

 

I agree with Lovelocum, it seems very much the policy that potential first-team players are kept at the club, players who are loaned out, like Lee, Sharp, Reeves etc always seem to be loaned out with the expectation that they will not be back. Lee has returned, after a fashion, but that obviously wasn't the intention. It would be something of a departure from the norm if Mayuka was loaned out solely to gain experience.

 

Tadanari Lee didn't exactly do much tbh apart from that goal. Think he's more of a stop gap until Jan then he's been given another chance. No one will come in for him due to his wages(which I've heard are higher then Sharp's). He's the only real person out of the players that have been told they aren't needed that can play in the 3 behind the striker.

 

Mayuka is still fairly young though
