He should definitely be playing at a higher level, but it's a higher level than we are currently at. If he comes to the PL he'll go to Fulham or Newcastle or somebody of that ilk.
If he comes to the Prem, it'll be a team such as Swansea or West Brom. How many times did Norwich attempt to get him and fail? I think they finally gave up and bought Van Wolfswinkel (great name), who is probably a better player.
I don't understand why he still hasn't had a cap for England. All our other strikers (bar Defoe) are poor. Carroll has pulled out of the Ireland and Brazil matches, but wasn't replaced - why not try Hooper? It's a friendly, the whole point in them is to try out players...
Totally agree, if he plays against Brazil, we'll get to see what he's like playing against some of the world's very best players. I'd also call up Wayne Routledge and Tiago Illori and play them in the Ireland game.
Hooper is a decent championship striker playing in a piss poor league made up of 95 per cent **** players. I'd get 20 goals for Celtic in that league.
See I think that too, but when you look at it he scored a goal every other game in an average S****horpe side. I think that makes him more than just a decent championship striker. I think that makes him a potential PL striker worth taking a... erm... punt on.
It's not guaranteed though is it? Don't they have to go through qualifying every time? There's some ****ing strong sides in the qualifying stages to knock one out prematurely.
