More like Swanshereford if they play like yesterday. I know they are out of danger and dry and well so they could ease a bit. Then again they have surely look like poor mans barca few times this seasons and have few wins to their credit. I have to say that passing the ball numerous times without clearly knowing where its going to lead is so boring and looks like a time wasting to me. No wonder they got so great nubers in statistics with ball posession ,like yesterday they were passin the ball to each other on their own half long periods of time. Is it just me but even barca looks boring with their passin style after all they could create much more scoring chances sometimes. Well ,without Messi they would look boring anyway.

Once other teams realize what is going on they don't bother to press. It works by making the opposition lose concentration and by dragging them out of position then playing the killer pass or upping the tempo to breakneck speed. Arsenal do it with Van Persie, Barca do it with Messi. Swansea haven't got that luxury. That is why they haven't scored that many even when they have (apparently) been in total control of a game.

However, I must say good luck to them as they have used the system to survive in the Prem this year.

Theyve been found out, I think they will suffer the 2nd year syndrome and will go down next season, maybe norwich too.

Not sure about that but they will find it much harder on next season. They have to find their own "Messi" to survive. Norwich otherhand is certain for relegation battle next season if Lambert leaves them for bigger club.

I think many teams have problems with promoted sides because they are an unknown quantity. its not a fluke that teams playing Swansea the 2nd time have done so much better than they have when they played the the 1st time.

If we stay up, we are in a much better position than both of them next season.

Good summary Eamon! You can call that "modern football in a nutshell" and sell it to the FA - they obviously need a clue!

The thing about teams who do this is that they can often take the momentum out of team (perhaps by boring them into a half awake state). But last night we pressed them so hard that they couldn't take it. Maybe every team will know this now and they'll slide down to the danger zone!!

Out pressing was very good, once we got them into trouble, the whole team pressed very effectively, its not use 1 or 2 doing it as they still have an easy ball away.

When they were in clear possession we just let them have it because we knew they would do nothing with it. Its a long time since Ive seen us be that tactically good.

If the Swans had more quality up top they would be far more effective. They only have Graham up front, who's good but not great. This means they only have one style of play, no plan B. Having said that, I think it's a bit harsh to be over critical of them. They have had a t'riffic season and I hope they stay up next season. Swansea City FC are a credit to the game and deserve success.

dont agree with that, how many quality chances did he miss? They hardly created anything. In fact their best chances came from a scramble after a corner and a long ball.

Flyer you need to be a little more objective, then you'll see the real picture, and it won't include your above fantasy. The way Swansea play (Not including last night) cannot be done overnight, and we have rightly had our praise from various quarters, because our system is technically superior when played correctly and at the right offencive tempo, but Rodgers reverted to the negative Sousa style last night, and our players don't like that negative way of playing, so i suggest to you that, as much as the critics were around criticising us when we went up to the championship soon to go back down, they returned to label us as guaranteed relegation fodder this season, and we have proved them wrong every season. It would be wonderful for us to get the couple of players we need to have our football project complete, but we won't go into the red for such players, but when we do eventually get the right front men, I'll come back and have a chat again with you, but we have proved this season that we can mix it with the best, and we'll be fine too next season, that I guarantee you!.............

I suppose we have more important things to think about than Swanseas next season. It is still very uncertain where would we play next season. One thing thou im certain of ,that we will be much more powerful team next season should we stay on EPL level.

I would swap league positions with them, but I wouldn't want to watch THAT every week. SO MANY backward and sideways passes!! Made me almost suicidal!!

I think this criticism of the Swans is very harsh indeed. Yes they go backwards a lot with their play but at times this season they have been scintillating. They're on a bad run and maybe they do need to tweak it a bit but they've done marvelous and will be a joy to watch once more.

Hmm. Thats a big statement considering (a) No one knows who is getting relegated THIS season (b) No one knows who is getting promoted from the Championship this season and (c) without knowing the summer signings no one knows what the starting lines ups for the PL teams will be next season.

    In fact it's not a statement, it's boll*cks!
