They haven't won in their last 4 games losing 2 and drawing 2 although they played well enough against Chelsea losing 2-3 we should have enough about us to win this one , not comfortably but win it all the same .It looks possible that Montero won't be fit and with Barrow now out on loan we could see Emnes make an appearance if Monk decides to keep with the current diamond formation , as our impact player

Play like we have the past couple of games in this new diamond formation and I see us winning this 2-0. Very difficult game for the first 60-70 mins and then our class should show through to take us 1 point behind our best ever points total in the PL.
This is a game we should be winning looking at both teams league positions. This is the time to make sure we don't reserve our best performances for the top sides. I expect us to get after them and hope for a 2-0 win. If we want to stay in 8th we have to be winning these games.

We have given up playing one style though proud hull and that's probably why we have not been outside the top 10 all season. Teams expect us to play a certain way and monk has been out foxing them by playing differently... Monk is not afraid to try new things and that has won him plenty of admirers this season and where past managers would stick to playing one system you dont know which system monk will use in any given game....
Not sure about Monk not changing formation dependant on the opposition. he's pretty well stuck with the same players /tactics for quite a while now .
He's had to change our style with the issues we have had with our Wingers, needs must I suppose, just hope we are greedy for the 3 points on Saturday though whatever system he plays, damn shame Monty is out..............

Yes, Monk does seem to have been tinkering lately and it's worked well. Probably shows he's learning his trade successfully and whether you like him or not that's commendable because learning on the job in one of the toughest leagues in the world is a big ask. I do think we've had some lucky results here and there but that's been peppered with some bad luck as well. Can't really complain with where we are, and both Monk and the team deserve an eighth spot finish so let's keep it going. So, on to the game. I see that Hull fans are expecting something here following a good showing against Chelsea recently but this is a game we should be winning. Hull aren't great away from home and I'll be disappointed with anything other than a good win today. If Monk can't motivate his players to get that eighth place then he will deserve criticism.
Hull play with 3 central defenders and two wing-backs if I'm not mistaken. If we revert to 4-2-3-1 and keep their wing-backs penned in their own half, we could be in for a long afternoon, especially if Hull come down here to take away a point as a decent result for them. If we carry on playing the diamond, we could see a much more open game in which both sides are much more likely to score. Am I talking bollocks?
Well Monk is on track to better the points totals amassed by Rodgers and Laudrup. That would be a great achievement given that Monk has also had to rebuild our squad and we sold Bony too.
