£15 million net profit for last season. Our finances are just fine, I remember someone on this forum insisting our shell out on Bony put our financial position in unnecessary jeopardy.
That sounds good, glad to hear about it, didnt really know things worked out financially after the Bony deal, but happy to hear the finances are fine.
Would that include the Bony deal? I'm sure it was said last season when they announced the profits that recent transfers didn't come out of it?
How the Bony deal will impact next seasons figures could be yet determined, but the fact it didn't fall under the year for 2012-2013 is the great news. Now the 2013-2014 figures will include it and this season even 20th placed team gets more than the £60M United got for being champions, it means Bony will not dent our fincances. For reference our total revenue was under £70M last season, now we will get over £60M just for being in the league this season.
Not to mention the extra revenue from being in Europe, and the knock on effect that has in possible terms of outside knowledge and merchandising.
If any team loses money for this current season then that would be a travesty for football! I can only imagine two clubs doing that.
This is a real point of pride in the club, for me. You look around at the craziness going on elsewhere and I really have to pinch myself that we're where we are right now. And with a bright and secure future. Magic.
Haven't re-checked but wasn't the figure up to the year ending May 2013? The Bony deal was done later. Maybe I'm missing something. Anyway, whatever the case we appear to be in very good health.
