So at present we've got the best disciplinary record in the league! Keep this up and we'll be giving the FA, FAW, UEFA and FIFA headaches come the end of the season when they have to allow us into the Europa League! Of course, this is assuming we don't break into the Champions League spots this season...I mean, we are only 10 points off top at the moment!
Healthy bit of optimism Scotty. Question is, if we do qualify, would we be counted as a Welsh team or an English team, seeing as FIFA can't seem to make their minds up? We may create another European spot for someone else if we are regarded as a Welsh team
If you did win the fair play award it would certainly be interesting to see what happens there. I think it was going to take Platini stepping in when we were in with a shout with our FA Cup run. Anyone know the rules about this, with you in the PL its time they looked at this.
I think the fact we're Welsh playing in the English league will become less and less of an issue. We're in this league system, which we've been in since it's foundation, on merit and if we earn a European spot I can't imagine they'd change the rules at all. We will have played in the same league as all the other teams, so to make an issue over us being the other side of an imaginary line which has changed loads over the years seems a bit silly! I think it's one of those things they didn't expect to have to deal with, but now that they do I don't see them causing us any problems over it. If Sepp Blatter loses sleep over it though, that is simply an added bonus...
But, in some respects, like transfers, they still consider us a foreign team in England, so I am not sure there is a rule set in stone yet. FIFA will probably improvise if it happens
As far as we can tell, yes. I think the Situ one would have been the same anyway given he was coming from France, but Halliche should've been a done deal. Shame, but they're the cards we were dealt, so we have to deal with them. I think we've appealed, so it might come through yet. The boy from France was training with us and everything!
the whole system is a joke, swans playing in the Prem League should be treated like any other side in the league
True, but the one argument the other sides have is who we are governed by. Easy solution to that though and its one I think we are all in favour of.
Red tape is killing football, along with a list of other things too long to mention, but starting with 'A' for 'Agents'. Who would have thought Fulham would be in Europe this season? But there they are, and all because of the Fair Play Award. With our limited options it's really important that we keep our discipline this season. Feelings run high at times and the pressure is intense. To finish anything from 17th and up and get into Europe via Fair Play, we'd be in dreamland.
It most certainly is mustyfrog. Where I admit they have had their advantages to Cardiff in the past it was embarassing at times when certain decisions were overturned plus being under their rule simply gives these 'Welsh out' donkeys their only bit of genuine ammunition (IMO) against us being in the FA league pyramid.
surely all four associations have to amalgamate and bite the bullet, ok keep FOW, SPL, IRL whatever they call themselves but get at least rangers and celtic in the prem at least to see if they make it, get linfield etc in the champ. the list goes on
With the way rivalries seem to have intensified in the Old Firm, I very much doubt the PL wants them at the moment!
You'd probably be moaning if you'd had death threats, been beaten up on the street by sectarian idiots and had bombs posted essentially to your house!
as far as the rules stand today then should we find ourselves in a European spot then the next English club below us would automatically take our place, until the rules change if ever then we can only qualify through the welsh FA cup and we have already refused to enter it.....
Leroy Litre taking his shirt off after scoring has ruined our chances of a European fair-play spot... KEEP YOUR SHIRTS ON!!
