I wouldn’t go as far as saying I want them to go bust, I just don’t want them to succeed.

People do seem to conflate the two despite the concepts being very distinct and easy to separate.

There a lorry load of teams I dislike, but I don’t want any of them to be dashed.

I think SUFC may struggle to return for a generation, not because the Conference is some sort of cache of elite clubs that really should be a feeder to the Championship, but mainly because Scunthorpe is a small nomark place that no one really is likely to invest significantly in.

Still intrigued how league football in North Lincs benefits the area of East Yorkshire, or is it just well meaning rhetoric?

Know the steel works has been in trouble for awhile
But it’s going to get a whole lot worse very very soon ITK
it would be good to have two feeder clubs and we could send our young uns on loan there

We seem to be doing that more now though with GY in the Conference.

Plus, the Conference is actually a superior level anyway, apparently.

Im sure that Clem, the geezer on Final score, pointed out, in an article, that several of the NL clubs have bigger budgets than most of the L2 sides, not all. They are able to attract better players from efl sides. Clem said the standard is better. He should know. He's a boffin.

I just listened to Keith Hill's post-match interview after the 7-0 drubbing, that bloke loves the sound of his own voice.

Destined for a humdinger Humber Derby that's nearly as big as Dobbins vs Girlie Birds.

He’s a ****er. Playing all the kids to pay smaller bonuses for Swann. No fan of Scunny but feel for the young lads being hung out to dry.

Nobody wants to see Grimsby or Scunthorpe to go bust, I just want them to get relegated to the regional leagues for a few years like Stockport and York did.

I see Rory Watson has been released by Hill, shame that a good keeper in a poor side. Hope he finds a new club.

Swann's just taken out a loan secured by Glandford Park and the surrounding land.

Looking grim for Scunny, last months wages were paid by hopeful new owners who haven't yet completed a deal. Meanwhile the owner, Peter Swann is taking legal proceedings against Apollo Bookmakers claiming they were negligent by encouraging him to bet beyond his means. He was often betting £5,000-20,00, on credit, on a single event. He paid Apollo over £3.8million between 2015-18 with the total wagers in the region of £20 million. What a mug.
